Well...I found a wacko to sell me the perfect Jeep...in MY budget! I picked up a 1999 Wrangler with 109,000 miles, very nice, very clean; 4-cylinder, soft top. Needs very little body work and the frame is in great shape (My Mechanic inspected and approved it. He also told me if I don't buy it right now, then HE will!) My first Jeep! I'm so happy and so proud!

  • Towing the Jeep Wrangler, how is it done?

Written by: bookitty on Sep 11, 2001 9:21:51 AM

Perhaps one of you Jeepers can answer my query. We have a 1999 Jeep Wrangler, 4.0, 5 speed transmission. I have been contemplating the purchase of a tow bar that has two connecting plates that bolt to the front bumper and terminates into a wishbone type arm(s) with a coupler. That's the easy part. Now, my question is, does one just put the transfer case in neutral just and release the ... Read More

My '97 Sahara had LOADS of water leaks. All were noted on TSBs from Jeep and had to do with water leaking from the AC, water dripping in through the cowl and some defective gaskets. Here's the links (hope this works..!)  1997 4.0L http://www.alldata.com/TSB/04/970406D2.html  1998 4.0L http://www.alldata.com/TSB/04/980430D2.html  1999 4.0L http://www.alldata.com/TSB/04/990406D2.html  2000 4.0L http://www.alldata.com/TSB/04/000406D2.html  There are none listed for the 2001 Wranglers yet. He tsjay, I have noticed you really seem to enjoy your jeep, and I think that is great. What I was wondering is what lead you to wanting a wrangler? I know from your past posts you have had a Grand Cherokee and then a pontiac. The reason I ask is I have always wanted a wrangler, and finally just bought one a month ago, but I also have a Grand ... I test drow A 2001 Sahara(30" wheels) and noticed the top flapping at 65. Is that normal? I did not check, but I think the latch was not secure. I then tested a sport(Standard wheels), and took the car up to 60 and it was very quiet. What is the deal, Does the top flap at all, and do the tires make a different? I just want to make sure the ... Read More

I have been driving Jeeps for many years and I can tell you that if you drive a Jeep like you do a car, there is a good chance it could get away from you. Sudden gusts of wind can throw a Jeep around on the highway, going around corners too fast can result in a spinout and possibly a rollover and driving one can be a whole new experience for ...
