I have a 1990 Wrangler and I am having the same problem. Once I get into 4th I cant shift back into 3rd, it just grinds, but i can shift from 4th to 2nd fine. Someone told me that it could just be the cold weather.? Read More...

When the bigwigs at jeep get their heads out of their (ahem), transfer cases, perhaps THEN they will put a diesel into the wrangler. IF they DO then I'll buy one, but what I will probably do is just stick a V.W. Rabbit turbo diesel into my 1990 wrangler instead. Dave, The bad thing about using a bike to commute with is that if it rains, and you have an office job, your appearence is going to be shot to hell. Jay,try a local Jeep Owners club; they are all over the country. My wife has a 1999 Wrangler, and my son and I have removed and re-installed the hard top. If there is a rear wiper, that needs to be unplugged, and you will also need a size 50 or 60 male torx bit. If you own a Jeep Wrangler, it would pay to have a set of the torx bits.
