Bulletproof Car!
Vehicle
1990 Jeep Wrangler 2 Dr STD 4WD Utility
Review
I have my YJ lifted 5 1/2" on 33's and love it more than any car I've owned. I have owned over 17 in my lifetime. I drive this car very hard and take it on difficult offroad trails. This is also my daily driver, vacation vehicle and commuter to work. Keep in mind when buying that this is not a smooth driving car, not showy on the interior, but will last you along time and is very easy and cheap to repair. I rock climb, mud bogg, trail ride and drive it on the beach. This is an excellent vehicle.
Favorite Features
Offroad capability, reliability, I always know it will get me back home. Distinctive styling and usability. 2.5L and 4.0L are indestructible. I love pulling out Toyotas and big trucks out of the mud.
Suggested Improvements
Fuel economy ... but who cares, it's worth it. I get on average 15.5mpg with the 2.5L 5-speed. But this motor is bulletproof!

Kinda Bummed
Vehicle
1990 Jeep Wrangler 2 Dr Sahara 4WD Utility
Review
Bought with high extectations, motor has good compression, but no one can seem to get it to stop stalling. It has the webber carb, but still has hoses running everywhere! 4WD doesn't engage due to problems from the vacuum actuated front axle. Engine vibrates very hard, and compared to the fuel injected 4 cylinder, my 6 cylinder is the bigger dog of the two. ARGH!!! I think I will be more patient and look harder for a 4.0 FI equipped wrangler next time.
Favorite Features
Convertable, stick shift, off road capabilities even if 4WD doesn't engage. Cheap to lift.
Suggested Improvements
Wish they would've installed the 4.0 in the Wrangler in 87 instead of 91. At least they have better power now. For a vehicle that doesn't weigh much, they drink a lot of gas. Even the newer ones. Maybe make a diesel for that great low end torque plus fuel efficiency? Just an idea.
This is my dream car

Review
Ever since I got my Wrangler I enjoyed it. Working on it has been very easy, very cheap, and educational. It never left me stranded. For 127,000 miles and a 1990 I'm very impressed with reliability. Thing are holding up very good, and build quality is greater than the previous japanese sports car I drove. That Japanese car had so many rattles and was 8 years newer than my Jeep with 1/4 the miles. I wouldn't change anything about this car. Well, maybe lockers, lift and bigger tires but if it was built perfect from the factory your couldn't have fun working on it and building it the way you want.
Favorite Features
Go anywhere, and very easy to work on. I don't have to pay someone to install a lift, I can do it myself and learn alot. IMO, Most american cars aren't reliable but this one seems more reliable than my previous, newer japanese import (honda). Then again, it isn't a car it's a JEEP!
Suggested Improvements
make them free so I can get a couple more ;)

Had Jeep Since 1994. No Problems at all. Interior is starting to break down due to UV rays and temprature extremes. But starts up every morning.

I bought this jeep with 60,000 miles on it,after one month I had to replace all the U-joints,timing chain, rear main seal. After trying to tweak the bbd carb ,I gave up and got a weber that was the best upgrade I made now it gets about 12miles to the gal.and good performance.

Battling the SUV crash image
Vehicle
1990 Jeep Wrangler 2 Dr Islander 4WD Utility
Review
When I bought it, it had 89,000 miles on it, and I've put 60,000 miles on this vehicle since then, and the reliability is excellent. I've replaced the carb with an Autolite carb, and lifted it, but otherwise it's factory stock. I have no problems with the supposed problems with SUV rollover. It corners great.
Favorite Features
I've hit three deer with it. One was at 40MPH, and it sustained NO damage other than a slight wrinkle to two of the grill upright bars, and a bent fender, which I straighened out with my hands.
Suggested Improvements
The only improvement I would suggest for the Jeep Wrangler was done in 1997 when they switched the suspension to coil springs instead of leaf springs.

1990 Jeep Wrangler
Vehicle
1990 Jeep Wrangler 2 Dr STD 4WD Utility
Review
The 1990 Jeep Wrangler: you either love it or hate it. It should not be mistaken as civil or even practical. Everything about this vehicle is very stark and raw, from the trademark styling, to the spartan interior, flimsy tedious-to-install soft top, and stiff suspension setup. This vehicle is built for aggressive off-road performance, not for handling and everyday tooling around. What makes it appealling is its honest, hard-working image, its macho mystique and heritage, and yes, it will go anywhere...within reason. I recommend this vehicle to people looking for a fun 2nd car to tackle the trails or just to putz around with the top off on a sunny day.
Favorite Features
Ruff & ready looks, open-air motoring capability, this vehicle can go just about anywhere with its outstanding 4- wheel-drive ability (that's why the Jeep is the benchmark for 4x4's).
Suggested Improvements
Jeep has refined and modernized its Wrangler since 1990 and now it rides more like a car and has several more convenience features. Jeep is trying to appeal to a broader crowd including young females with its colors and graphics, and is succeeding.

Review
This car is amazing, it has been so much for my friends and I that I am really reluctant to sell it. I love this car and it has always been really good to me. Anyone who owns this car will be blessed with really amazing road trips, even trips to the gas station will seem memorable.
Favorite Features
It has a pioneer stereo, including a amp and pyramid speakers. The front speakers are newer pioneers and the sound is outrageous in the car.
Suggested Improvements
It needs an all around tune yp. She is pretty steady and reliable.
