This is a copy of a letter I found online. because the 2006 and 2007 were recalled about the windows. But they only went as far as 2006. not far back enough, because i have a 2004 and it fell down already 3 times.
Hi again. It is important to know whether to sludge the dealer is talking about was in the crankcase, the intake, or in the fuel system. I also have not seen Rotella 15-40 in synthetic. I may be wrong. I run the 15-40 Rotella in my Chevy Kodiak C5500 which doesn't call for synthetic and it works fine. I, like Carabo1, think you need a good diesel mechanic which you won't ... My service advisor gave me the # to Jeep/Chrysler (1-800-763-8422) and I was assigned a case manager. The case manager was going to make me pay for the repair up front and they were going to reimburse me if it was the same issue (as in previous repairs). I argued with the case manager and they finally agreed to fix it with no money out of my pocket. I already had ... Read More
So I thought I was good to go - both back windows - second time. Called the Jeep dealer yesterday after being told by a service dept tech to "bring it in" - wanted to make an appointment for today - Nope. The lady asked me the vin number & said sorry, no. My daughter has a 2006 Jeep Liberty that she got at about 48K miles ... a couple of weeks later, her check engine light came on, we took it back to the dealership, they changed a sensor and sent her om her way. Wow - Thank you for posting about the extended warranty! I just called my Jeep dealer in Fort Myers, FL. - the man said to bring it in any time & they will fix it on the spot - said it takes a couple hours :):):) I am SO tired of taping both my back windows & it's been almost a year! thank you!
Thanks for the info. I if I get it in writing I will post it. I dont trust the Jeep dealer that I go to at all! I am really glad I found this edmunds.com. A 2006 should be covered the same as a 2007 as I understand it. The biggest problem came from the 06-07 models. I'd call another dealership to see what they say if I were you. I will note they did not tell me about the warranty on the phone. For whatever reason, it wasn't until I took it in (because of the suspension) that they told me about the warranty on ... Read More
I got my window fixed yesterday, and the jeep dealer said it was only under warrant for the next 6 months. That is not what I read on the internet and I think they lie. Mine is a 2006 Jeep Liberty, so I wonder if the warrant is different.
Thanks so much for the info. Fortunately I haven't had the problem for over a year, but just knowing it can be fixed without major money out of my pocket is great. Yes I will equip my 2003 Liberty with duct tape, etc. Again, thank you for the update.
I haven't posted in this thread for awhile but I have a 2007 Liberty. I've had all my windows fixed numerous times because they fell out of their track. When it recently fell again, I resorted to duct tape until I had time to get it in. This time I expected a pretty sizable bill since the car is no longer under warranty. As it turns out, the windows now have ... Read More

You need to write a letter & enclose a copy of your bill for the repair. Hello ttripp378! Sorry to hear you are having a concern with your 2006 Jeep Liberty Renegade. With all due respect, I believe the skyslider did not become available til '08. I had my "09 Libby for a little over two years til I got fed up with the roof. 5 times for leaks all over and numerous calls to Chrysler made me trade it in for an '11 Liberty with a sunroof.
My 2006 Jeep Liberty Skyslider track was recently diagnosed by the Dealership and I was told it is broken due to high mileage on my vehicle. First of all, how does the skyslider track break due to mileage? Second of all, how does 13,500 miles per year equate to high mileage? I've seen Jeep Liberty's that are younger than my car with 130,000+ mileage selling for $15,000. They don't have broken ... Read More

If you have a CAI with the K&N, that can lean out mixture, yes. With just a drop-in K&N, you are doing absolutely nothing to the engine except at WOT, because you have a throttle plate regulating air flow anyway. Rainy weather creates a denser fuel charge, so that effect makes perfect sense.

I have a 2006 Jeep Liberty 4X4, 3.7 liter engine. The oil light will come on when initially started after sitting for awhile. However, if the engine is cut off and re-started the oil light does not come on again. The oil is changed every 3,000 miles since purchasing the vehicle in February 2009. Any solutions to this little mystery. Thank you,

RUN don't walk as far from the dealer as you possibly can except to purchase your new window and regulator. I just picked up my window and regulator at the dealer except this time it came with a sticker for 58cents to put on the window telling anyone who was repairing the door that the window was not the 2006 window and it refered them to a Mopar bulletin # 68058661AA. ... caribou1: The ashes are no problem! We have a Waterford wood heat stove that generates lots of ashes! Maybe I should bag them and sell the bags. Now that is the kind of recycling I can really get into. I found out that the 2006 Liberty's have a service note on how to clean these dirt-magnet seat covers. Wash with warn water only power vac. Then let dry, and repeat the ... Read More
Their number is 1-800-992-1997. The recording lists options to pick from, one of which is "dealer or product complaint" or something to that effect. An update on my story from above--Chrysler finally called me back (not within the 24h window that they told me) and stated that if I paid $150, they would pick up the rest. This is a 2006 Liberty and honestly, they should pay for the whole thing. ... Read More
Well, 2 months ago I had to have the regulator replaced on the rear passenger window on my 2003 liberty. A couple weeks ago, the drivers' side rear window in our 2006 Liberty fell down. I researched this and found out that as you all have seen, it is a KNOWN PROBLEM and Jeep has refused so far to have a recall. It was $350 to fix last time; this time ... Read More
Both rear windows of my 2006 Liberty fell into the frame one year ago July, they were repaired free, under warranty. I would much ... Read More
When a window drops and a small child falls out of it, The settlement Jeep will pay and the bad publicity they will receive will make them wish they had done the recall. It is sad that something as serious as this and as costly to the consumer as this is that the Government has not forced Jeep to at least inform the owners of the vehicles with the cheap plastic ... I thought that things would get better when Daimler bought Jeep. I was wrong. There is no doubt that the problems with these window regulators are a design issue. There are aftermarket parts availably that actually fix the problem but Chrysler refuses to admit it and at least come up with a replacement part that lasts. The sad part is that they are destroying a good product line to make a ... Read More
