A thoroughly capable and comfortable compact SUV if you like to bash boulders, but if you're like most people and spend 99 percent of your time on the pavement, the 2004 Jeep Liberty lags behind its more carlike competitors.

My wife and I decided upon retirement that we didn't need the big, thirsty V-8 or space of our Grand Cherokee. But we like Jeeps so we reluctantly sold the GC to our son and leased the Liberty Renegade. We have never regretted that decision. It is spunky, fun to drive, and everyone asks about the lights on the roof. It stands out in a crowd. It is almost time to turn it in so we are going to start looking at colors and features early. My daughter liked it so much she traded her Grand Cherokee for a 2006 Liberty Limited. That has all the bells and whistles and is really very nice.

I think that your guys are harder on
this truck than the others. It has the
rear outlet, nice bucket seats, all the
options (a standard CD player - beat
that!) and the AC kicks. I should
know - I live in Louisiana. It is
about 100 degrees every day here during
the Summer. Tinted Glass, alloy rims
and cruise control were only $800 to
add on. Try about $3000 with the Ford
Escape. Best value for the money.
With tax included (at 9% too) I paid
under $21,000. It blows the doors off
an Xterra, Element, Sorrento and Isuzu
for value. Rugged design with a knack
for knowing we all drive on the road
not the dirt. Xterra could learn
All 2004 Jeep Libertys now feature a passenger-side grab handle and a power accessory delay feature, while Renegade models get additional rock rail protection and black accent body side moldings. New options include UConnect, Chrysler's hands-free in-vehicle communication system, a tire-pressure monitoring system and a cargo organizer. Safety is enhanced thanks to a system that unlocks doors, illuminates interior courtesy lights and shuts off the fuel pump after airbag deployment. A new trim -- the Jeep Liberty Columbia Edition -- has been introduced, offering 16-inch graphite-painted aluminum wheels; graphite-painted fascias and body moldings; body-colored fender flares; a sun roof; fog lamps; and Columbia badging.
I have a 2004 Jeep liberty and the radio has gone crazy. The time is only in military time and won't change back. The radio stations won't show up correctly and the disc tracks keep randomly changing...
I am hoping to finance a used vehicle in the next month. I have narrowed it down based on my price range to the (2002/2003) Jeep Liberty and the (2003/2004) Mitsubishi Outlander. I have done my own re...
I want to use my 2004 Liberty to tow a 1 horse trailer. The owners books says it can handle it. I had a hitch installed, but the installer said he didn't know where/how to install the brake controller...
