Review of the 2004 Jeep Liberty

  • A thoroughly capable and comfortable compact SUV if you like to bash boulders, but if you're like most people and spend 99 percent of your time on the pavement, the 2004 Jeep Liberty lags behind its more carlike competitors.

  • Safety
  • Pros

Extremely capable off-road, creative interior design, still a Jeep at heart.

  • Cons

Thirsty at the gas pump, not as "carlike" on the street as most of its competitors.

  • What's New for 2004

All 2004 Jeep Libertys now feature a passenger-side grab handle and a power accessory delay feature, while Renegade models get additional rock rail protection and black accent body side moldings. New options include UConnect, Chrysler's hands-free in-vehicle communication system, a tire-pressure monitoring system and a cargo organizer. Safety is enhanced thanks to a system that unlocks doors, illuminates interior courtesy lights and shuts off the fuel pump after airbag deployment. A new trim -- the Jeep Liberty Columbia Edition -- has been introduced, offering 16-inch graphite-painted aluminum wheels; graphite-painted fascias and body moldings; body-colored fender flares; a sun roof; fog lamps; and Columbia badging.

Finally back in the suv

Vehicle: 2004 Jeep Liberty Renegade 4WD 4dr SUV (3.7L 6cyl 4A)

I've had my Renegade for about 2 weeks now and couldn't be happier! My Liberty drives like a tank and I love it. I've always been an SUV girl at heart, first car was a Blazer Tahoe. I've been a sedan driver for the past 10 years and felt it was time to go back to an SUV. Having this truck makes me glad I did!

Vehicle: 2004 Jeep Liberty Renegade 4WD 4dr SUV (3.7L 6cyl 4A)

I owned a Sahara, wanted more comfort. And I recieved it, with the knowledge I could go where my Sahara preformed, and it did very well. Best move this year. Had sports cars but the road is your domain, this you can go almost anywhere. Love to ride in style and go off road as well in style. Best of both worlds. You can not lose with this small SUV.

Vehicle: 2004 Jeep Liberty Renegade 4WD 4dr SUV (3.7L 6cyl 4A)

I own a loaded Jeep Renegade now one year old. My family loves this Jeep although we dont care for filling up at the gas pumps. A few squeaks and rust spots on the wheels. Truly love this vehicle except for a few minor things.

Love it1

I bought this vehicle as a down grade from my new Overland, or at least I thought I was at the time. This Renegade is more stylish, loves having extras put on and it and attract lots of looks.
