Gas hog
Vehicle
1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4 Dr Laredo 4WD Wagon
Review
I recently purchased a 244,000 mile 1995 Jeep GC. I have owned 7 jeeps prior to this one. It is a great running jeep even with the mileage. I purchased it as a back up vehicle but find myself driving it instead of my Nissan even with gas mileage as bad as it is. I had to replace the transfer case recently but was able to find one at a junkyard for 120 dollars. The Jeep is extremely easy to work on. I definitely recommend the GC experience.
Favorite Features
Ride quality.
Suggested Improvements
It's a Jeep, I just deal with the little things.
Creaks but runs forever

1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4 Dr Laredo 4WD Wagon
Review
Bought it 7 years ago for 7 grand. Since then the only non maintenance repair was a starter motor. It's towed our travel trailer all over BC and never let us down. It leaks oil and creaks and groans but it never quits and has real character.
Favorite Features
Roomy, decent mileage (13 L/100 km city, 10 L/100 km on the hwy). Good power from the 4.0 and better handling and ride then any other truck SUV. Faultless transmission.
Suggested Improvements
better gaskets to stop oil leaks

200k and keeps on going!
Vehicle
1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4 Dr Laredo 4WD Wagon
Review
I bought this Jeep with 70k on it. It now has 200k and I've never been happier with a vehicle. It's sturdy, reliable, and does its job. The fuel economy is average in today's world but I can still get 18 -22 mpg if I drive carefully. Its real colors show when it's driven off road - it's impressive. I have driven this car across the USA six times and its never let me down. Had the transmission replaced at 150k - but only because the mechanic that serviced it didn't add transmission fluid and ruined the original. The driver's seat is getting soft but other than that the paint job, interior, and everything else has held up well. I live in New Mexico - rough terrain. I wouldn't be without my Jeep!
Favorite Features
Reliable. Tough. Compass and temperature gauge are invaluable when you travel into the wilderness as I do. Good cargo space. If you can find a good used one of these, you'll have to beat me to it!
Suggested Improvements

Good Used 95
Vehicle
1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4 Dr Limited 4WD Wagon
Review
The 95 is my 3rd Grand Cherokee Ltd, white, pillow leather, moonroof that has over 100K mi and still going strong. The interior is beautiful. I know my Jeeps and have purchased a new 94 and new 03. The older generation were better build with less reliabiltiy issues. The 95 Jeep only weigh 3800 lbs without me! That's 2000 lbs less than many other SUV's and 1500 lbs less than the new jeeps. The Outland package has 3" lift, Bilstein gas shocks, skidpads up front, transmission, around gas tank and with a comfortable ride! The tow package adds big radiator, high amp alternator, transmission cooler and stronger gears for higher reliability! Quadra-trac 4x4 goes anywhere!
Favorite Features
Interior pillow leather! Infinity sound system! Moonroof! Comfortable ride! Compact size with Swiss Army knife unility! 22-24 mpg highway w/V8!
Suggested Improvements
Change transmission, transfer case and differential oils to synthetic. Adds 2-4 mpg! Quality aftermarket brake rotors and ceramic pads! Change thermostat to 175, adds 20 hp and 1-2 mpg. Don't let anyone change differential seal! ...or get a ring and pinion reset for $750. New Walker Cat

A Forever Friend
Vehicle
1995 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4 Dr Laredo 4WD Wagon
Review
I am actually sad as I move towards replacing my first Jeep (Grand Cherokee) after our 12 years together! I purchased this vehicle for a move to Northern Minnesota and it has proved to be a fabulous investment. It has performed wonderfully on my many trips and adventures, on-road and off, and is as beloved to my friends and child as it is to me. It saved my life when I spun off an icy highway and landed on a mound of snow unscathed. My Jeep braved a record cold winter (dipping to 60 degrees below zero) without missing a beat and has never failed to get me to my destination. In the past, I was in and out of the shop with a fussy luxury import. Now, I am a "Jeep" girl!
Favorite Features
As quirky as this sounds, the Jeep has what I think are the best cupholders in the business! Believe me, when you are on the road as much as I am, this is an essential feature!
Suggested Improvements
Extra cupholders, especially in the side and rear! Might also be nice to add a bit more storage up front to hold items for the driver.
