I have owned my Jeep since Oct 2010. I have dealt with mechanical and electrical issues since March 2011. I have not had any mechanical or electrical issue since July 2011. The Jeep had less than 25K miles. Now fast forward to November 2012 Jeep has 28K miles electrical problems have re surfaced, the dashboard gets hot to touch whether the radio or heating unit is on or off. Left rear ... Read More
My 2009 Jeep Grand Cherokee has a "flat spot" when accelerating. When it reaches that spot, I can stand on the accelerator and nothing happens (RPMs do not move). Eventually it figures out that I want it to go faster and then begins acceleration (sometimes after sputtering and backfiring). The dealership where I bought it cannot duplicate the problem and says nothing is wrong. They even had me run fuel with ... Read More

To start with, your Jeep dealer has very little interest (read motive) in getting a Jeep with 150,000 miles fixed. My advice would be to ignore him completely. I had a similar experience with my 1998 Cherokee where both the dealer AND a transmission shop said nothing but a rebuild would fix my Jeep. Neither one could remotely say what the problem was....they were clueless. With nothing to lose, I checked ... Read More
We have also just got the Electronic Throttle warning light and then the check engine light came on. Just prior to this happening the engine RPM was surging slightly similar to a TPS sensor failure on a gas engine. We bought our 2008.5 Grand Cherokee diesel in April, 2009 and it now has 110,000 kms of highway driving on it. The dealer says the turbo failed and that there is a ... Read More

Similar issue to Donna's. And, I've previously posted but now have additional symptoms: The skinny: '04 Jeep JGC Limited SOHC. I replaced the battery in May of 2009. Bought the JGC new. Runs like a top; 110K miles, and in about as good a condition as a 9.5 year old vehicle can be. I've experienced a few of the electrical issues that many experience, but have managed to resolve all. Vehicle has usually been garage kept. However, in October 2009, I left on vacation, and left the vehicle outside for two weeks. Upon my return, I found the gauges ... Read More

In my previous post, I mentioned about receiving an e-mail from Chrysler mentioning the loyalty bonus and that one of the dealers called a customer service number to confirm my eligibility. The e-mail I got from Chrysler clearly states that I'm eligible for the owner ... Read More
I am jealous. I have an 08 Limited with the smaller V8 engine (which is plenty for me). If I remember correctly, the MSRP was around $41k. I got it for $34k + taxes. This was back in September, 07. Paule, I also have been looking at purchasing 2009 Grand Limited. The dealers have told me that between rebates, employee pricing and the financing offers, they have never seen any better incentives out there for Jeepís. Can't help you with the 09s, but here's my story from last year. I started looking at an 08 last year in early September. My deal was invoice minus all rebates (I didn't have a trade in). At the time the rebates were $3000. They ended up going to $3500 plus free MyGig later. Keep in mind this was BEFORE the SUV market tanking, which will work in your favor. FYI, ... Read More

Fuel efficiency with AWD won't be greatly affected (1-2 miles per gallon worse) driving style will affect fuel efficiency more. I get 18 MPG at 75 MPH and 21 MPG at 60 MPH with my 2001 Grand Cherokee with Quadra-trac II. Regardless of the 4X4 system you choose, you will experience a slight loss in MPG. This is due to the extra weight that you put on because of the transfer-case, ... Read More
