This was my first and last mopar
product. The jeep definitely needs
more Benz influence to improve the
product. Good thing that my local
servicing dealer takes very good care
of me. The transfer case leaked, the
electric fan was replaced, the engine
stalls and restarts when it feels like
it. The brake rotors are too flimsy, I
have replaced 2 sets of rotors
already. 4 wheel drive works
intermittently, has let me down a few
times when needed. Not a real bad
vehicle, but I'm going back to A GM
product, which had much better quality.
Steering wheel controls, Selec-trac
lets you choose 2 or 4 wheel drive.
Decent Infinity stereo.
Improve the initial engineering and
quality, make electronics more
sophisticated for easier
Own 2000 Jeep GCH laredo 4x2, 4.7L ,
59000 ml. had only some small problems
When buying used Jeep make sure
you've got lot of money for fixing and
maintenance and lot of patience with
dealer service department,get model
with V8 engine (gas milage is almost
same like with V6 models - i have
average 16.8 mpg and drive mostly
around the town )- but on the end this
SUV is worth it.
brutal acceleration,strong V8,interior
just about everything.
Not on jeep but dealership service
departments , they dont have enough
knowlege and professionality
This vehicle was purchased brand new in
2000 and was bought back in 2001 via
lemon law. This suv was in the shop
2x/month every month. Problems with
starter, fuel pump, tranny making lound
noises, driving constantly to the
right, mirrors, seat memory, cd
changer, paint, and other problems
Audio controls, v8 power, fun to drive
factor, poor fuel economy
RELIABILITY, fuel economy (at least get
it in the high teens).
Current GC is my second, owned a 93
first. Love the extra power from the I-
6. Reliable car. Get upset when I
hear others talk bad about Jeep. Other
than usual wear and tear, I have been
to the garage less than anyone I know.
GC doesn't like to run at 105 MPH on
the Autobahn, but it will still
maintain the pace for hours at a time.
Love the looks when passing the Germans
in their Audi's, speed is not always
about the vehicle's performance. Love
it in the snow, passing the BMWs on the
hills. On my second set of brakes at
80,000, not too bad!!!
Stereo controls on the steering wheel.
Select-a-track, allowing me to decide
how to drive it.
Large blind spots on front colums when
rain guards are added.
So far I have replaced Water pump, 2
window motors, brakes and air
conditioner compressor. Mechanic says
these are all known bad parts!! Jeep
should reacall some of these if they
are know to have bad parts. WOULD
NEVER BUY A JEEP AGAIN!!!
