I have owned my Grand Cherokee since new. We now have over 250K miles on it. At 150 I had the rear differential rebuilt. Overall it has been a very good vehicle for us since we live in the Lake Tahoe Area. Our previous Cherokee finally gave out at 330K and this seems to be about the same in terms of aging.
Comfort compared with other vehicles at the time. Much better off road than the Durangos and Explorers of the same vintage. Has 4 wheel lock up which is a must on the gravel and ice. An nice enough interior that you don't feel like your riding in a truck.
They need to improve the durability of the front seats. Sound system is adequate but not great. Would prefer a rear window that rolls down for the dogs and ventilation instead of A/C
