I bought this car new in 1993 in California. I
drove it all over the southwest. We moved to
FL in 1996, driving the Jeep across the US
loaded down with bikes, bags, pets, kids, etc.
- then we drove it all over the southeast until
we moved to Italy in 2000. The car has never
left us stranded or really given us any
problems at all. It has 135000 miles on it now
and we are hesitant to sell it even though we
just bought a new VW Passat - we just love
this Jeep so much. It is fun to drive, realiable
and a very practical car for kids, pets and all
terrain and weather.
Great body style - still the best looking SUV.
We have one of the few 5-speeds that they
made and that is a real advantage with the 6-
cyl engine. Don't know why they aren't
available in the new ones.
Offer a 5-speed transmission in the new ones
- not all people want an automatic.
