  I've had the same problem. The technician said that it's a transmission problem. However, the tear down is $1200 and if they don't find anything wrong with it then I'll have to pay the $1200.   happened to me today 29,980 miles 2007 compass mil lite came on with p0741 code. Dealer checked it out and said it needs a transmission. in addition they said they cannot replace the valve body separately. the entire trans must be replaced.

  i have had the exact same problems wait until your rear trailing arms have to be replaced i replaced my alternator for the second time since i have owned my vehicle idler bearings are shot etc. i will also never buy a Chrysler again 150,000km of hell!

  That was the exact mileage that we brought ours in at. Good luck, let me know how it goes. We are still haveing leaks that Jeep can't fix. We just don't drive our brand new, paid in full, 2007 Jeep Compass, when it rains anymore.

  We actually had two CDs stuck in the player of our Jeep Compass 2007. We used two butter knives to get it out. We put one under the cd and one on top of the cd and then pulled, it took two of us, but it worked. Just make sure you grab it or it goes right back in. Hope that helps. Everything works great now.

Living in home off a dirt road, where a trip to the grocery store requires mud chains, I have to say that the Jeep Compass is the perfect blend of off road worthiness and gas saving commuter.
