Hi there, I had cruise control added after-market to my 94 Jeep Cherokee Sport at the dealership a few years after purchase. It looks just like the one in the manual. Shutting off and Low oil pressure on dashboard

Hello all, I have purchased a used 2000 jeep grand cherokee laredo 4.0l 6 cyl with 132,000 miles on it.I have been having problems with it shutting off on me,have noticed that the oil pressure on the dashboard appears to stay on or near 0.The only time that it will go up to the halfway mark is if i am driving but once i come to a stop it goes back down again.Please help me. ... After reading all these posts, I think I have a similar issue...But I wanted to ask anyway. My 2000 Cherokee Sport as a few issues. The Cruise Control won't hold a steady speed - it'll go + or - 10 mph over the selected speed. Also, the fan blows mostly out the defrost vents. So my 2000 Sport was doing this too. I looked under the hood one day after I saw some leakage and steam coming from under the hood. Turned out anti-freeze was just pouring out of a hole in the hose. I poured a bucket of water in the reservoir cause it was hot outside and i went over to Auto Zone and got a new hose for $16 and some clamps and grease they offered with it.I bought ... Read More...

I own a 96 Jeep cherokee sport 4(L) 4x4. I recently had to change out the computer. I found a cheap (free) one from a junk 2000. Put it in and the jeep started right up and runs fine, Only the engine light and generator light stay on. It won't pass e-check that way so I am in need of the right computer. The coolant issue sounds like a blown head gasket to me. I believe you are burning coolant which is why you could smell it. It could also be a coolant leak like you said where the coolant is dropping onto the exhaust and burning off. I believe you would get the oil pressure symptoms prior to your oil pump failing.
