Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee Brake Problems

Hi, please could someone help me bear some light on a problem with my Jeep Cherokee Orvis it is 1999 model, and everytime it goes on ice the brakes dont work properly and makes this horrible grinding sound. Otherwise it is perfect, it is definately something to do with the ABS, as when I take the fuse out its fine. Read More...

If it only happens when you are moving, a connector or wire is loose or speaker or radio not secure which stresses wires and connectors. Next, I assume it happens all the time so you can test it in your garage. Obtain a portable radio or compact stereo that can driive your speakers. I have a 4.7 that was knocking at 2000+ RPMs, was told to replace main bearings, I did so, the main bearings had no sign of wear, however as i Rotated the crank during removal of the first bearing, both of the thrust bearings fell out, upon visual inspection, both thrust bearings have signs of wear and metal gouging. I had exactly the same problem and the oddest thing about it was that only the driver's side rotor locked, the passenger side was fine. I got to know the folks down at Auto Zone pretty well too. Did you ever find a solution? I'm driving around right now with one new and one old rotor. Let me know if you were able to find a rotor that fit. Thanks! Altitude Read More...

Just purchased and ran fine for the first week. Now it skips between 0 - 40 mph. Tried "good" gas, dry gas. Had it checked and they said nothing wrong with transmission and is all they could suggest is a tune up????? Read More...

I currently have 2 of these. One does this same thing. It only happens occasionally and is most noticeable at night (obviously). The lights will come on, turn on the motion sensors on the porch, then go off. It is like it is possessed! It has helped to turn off the Auto Headlight function, but that is a pain. Read More...
