    I currently have 2 of these. One does this same thing. It only happens occasionally and is most noticeable at night (obviously). The lights will come on, turn on the motion sensors on the porch, then go off. It is like it is possessed! It has helped to turn off the Auto Headlight function, but that is a pain.

    I had a miss at 60mph and up with my 1999 grand cherokee as well. Not 02 sensor that fixed it. Took it to Jeep Dealer and they did not know, finally a transmission shop figured it out. It was bad tires causing the transfer case to shift in and out of four wheel drive. Replaced tires and the problem went away.

    how many miles on your jeep? if it were me i would change the oxy sencers on the exaust and see if that helps as they ware out and if still in pramaters of computer will add gas as if running lean when your not thus over fueling engine under load prob have two one in front of cat converter and one behind change them both

    Please purchase vented rotors because they cool down faster than regular rotors Jeep's are heavier than passenger and all that extra vehicle body weight causes more friction when the brakes are applied and please make sure you use ceramic brake pads and this will be the end of your break problem issues I promise

    It not the thermostat, or pump, Its the coolent level sensor in the overflow/resovor, should read 3300k ohms, the plug that goes into the back of the screen, under the radio,controls, has a picture of the viechal, tells when a door is open ect... the #1 terminal goes to the coolent level sensor, try cleaning the connector, that usually fixes it, if not sheck the wires. To fix the power windows usually requires the entire assembly to be replaced and it is common for all of them to be replaced over a shorter than usual period of time. I guess if you want to drive a jeep, plan on replacing rotors every year. By ther way, the pads last forever. I don't think its my driving style. Also, I've never had the vehicle off road. C

    My 2004 GC just had it's 3rd set of replacement front rotors put on it in less than 4 years. Each set seems to last 1 year. The latest ones lasted only 6,000 miles. Jeep knows they had a bad brake system in 2003 and earlier. My jeep was manufactured prior to June, 2003.

    I have a 2000 Jeep GC and have just experienced the same problem. Today was the first time it dropped to zero however, and the check guages indicator came on. I was told before from Valvoline that a wire was off and they put it on, but the sending unit will have to replaced eventually if the problem persists. I will have to have the dealer confirm this week.

    when i start my Jeep the oil pressure is a little lower than normal, as it warms the pressure drops, eventually to zero and the check guages light comes on. When I accelerate the check guages light shuts off and the pressure rises slightly, only a little bit! I have plenty of oil, and I had it changed 3000 miles ago. What is my Jeeps problem?

    My neighbor just went through this last summer on her '00 Limited. I thought her mechanics were trying to take her for a ride, but it turns out the pinion and carrier bearings were shot. While they had it apart, they changed the axle bearings as well. It fixed her problem. Seems like her bill was right at $600 as well. Good luck.

    One other thing. I don't know where the temperature sensor for the fan is located, but if it is in the radiator area the radiator itself would not get hot if the thermostat was not opening even if the engine was overheating. You can always remove the thermostat just to verify you are getting good coolant circulation.

    Since you said the fan works if you jump a hot wire to it, the manual mentions only two other things. Check the 40 amp fuse in the power distribution center (engine compartment) and the ones in the interior fuse panel.     Is the Jeep hot when you are starting it? The electric fan is thermostatically controlled and only turns on when the coolant temperature requires it.

    What are the reasons you have been given for overheating? If the auxillary fan doesn't come on without the A/C then find out why. If it does overheats with the aux.fan on then I'd suspect the radiator internals are partly plugged or have corrosion that impedes heat transfer. It could be a water pump that doesn't pump enough coolant but I'd bet on plugged radiator.
