Hello, first let me thank you for a place to ask a question. I have a 1996 Jeep Cherokee Country. I need some good advice because money is an issue, after just replacing a heater core and battery. It has been sluggish to turn over, I thought perhaps because it was cold out. I had my battery and alternator checked today. The Alternator was charging, but I had to replace the ... Read More

Okay, well to update you on what I've done to it since my last post, I've put new plug wires, a new battery, and a new fuel filter in the jeep. It still dies after 15 min of running. I do have the intermittent check engine light after I let it get to the point of dying. Upon close inspection of the exhaust system, I have a severely damaged exhaust manifold ... Read More
Do you have a check engine light that is intermittent? Does it want to stall as you come to a stop? It has been my experience that rough idle AND having to gas it to keep it running is a bad Oxygen sensor. My 99 has 4 of them. It cost $1000 to change them all out after having similar problems. Your G/C has different V8 engines than mine though. FYI. ... Read More
Hi, I had this problem! Trust me I know were your coming from, KEEP THE CLUTCH FLUIDS AT THE RECOMMENDED LEVEL, And also keep the Coolant at the recommended level. It sounded insane but it works! If that doesnt solve your issue, It could be a bad clutch and it may need to be replaced. I'm rolling up on about 600,000 miles with my Jeep Cherokee 4.0 5SPD. They indestructable!!!!!!
My jeep has been running very rough and dying randomly unless I give it gas constantly. I recently replaced the battery terminal connectors and spark plugs and I tested the battery and alternator with a multimeter several times (all OK). Here is a video I took with my cell phone: http://youtu.be/kiCWUzWjWbI Thank you guys for any information that helps me to get it running good again.

Battery drain when ignition is off. I have isolated the problem to the curcuit protected by fuse #7 labeled: Body Amp, Cluster, Body controller. This is a 20 amp fuse and when removed the battery no longer drains down. Need to know the likely circuit that may be at fault. With the fuse removed I have no instrumentation. Thanks!

As your tires get more worn and subsequently slightly out of balance, that will aggravate the shake. Perfectly balanced new tires help it out. The older your suspension gets, also will show more signs of aggravation also. With a lift, that may pose some other problems unto itself as things wear but I think your on the right track with the parts your planning. Should help anyway.
