Transmission Dash Light Comes on at times which makes the Transmission Shift Hard. I can sometimes Turn off ignition and then Restart Car and Dash Transmission Light goes off. Manual says take it to the Dealer. Any suggestions besides that?
Car runs but will cut off. Sometimes Starts right back up and sometimes wont. Not getting any Vehicle Error Codes. I believe it may be a fuel Problem. Could it be a Dirty Fuel Filter?
Hi, Digital girl here, did you find a good jaguar mechanic? I am looking for one myself. Have 1994 xjs-6. Help would be greatly appreciated.
My Jaguar is a 1994 XJ6. It would not start one day so I had it taken to the dealer. After $1000 they said it was fixed. (bad wire in the harness they said) Got the car home and it would not start. Cranks but no juice to coil or distributor. They will not fix the problem without charging more. Help.
Add yet another (ME) to the list of uncontrolled acceleration. This is going to sound bizarre to all of you because i experienced this in my 1994 XJ6. I can't bother whether you are anyone believes me, but alone, i went out to my cherry car in a parking lot, after a session in a nice casino on the poker table. I turned the ignition on and suddenly the engine went ... Read More
My search is focused on looking for a good or great Jaguar mechanic/tech. Particularly electrical/computer problems and enhancements. My experience with the Mobile Alabama Jaguar dealership and others is that...The techs that are great for newer models are not old enough to be great with my era Jaguars...1994 XJ6 I will travel long distance to any southern states particularly to find such a tech and service facility. Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, ... Read More

HELP 1994 XJ6 sedan, cherry condition, 129K miles, I have gotten thru many of the problems I read here in other categories, but my trans problem is a bit scary. I am having "slamming" or "bumping" at shift points both accelerating and decelerating on occasional start ups. Only occasional. (scary compared to normal shifting points because it snaps my neck a bit when it shifts upward while accelerating) and the transmission ... Read More
As for the LS400 The 1990-1994 had a flair to me. I remember a line from a Car and Driver review of the 1995 that said it lacked the flair of the less perfect model. That car was too antiseptic to me. There are some posters on here which have commented about Lexus acknowledging that the revision was too conservative. The original model was a timeless design, a la Jaguar. Look ... Read More
This is amazing. (Last Post) "In your previous post the chart showed 700+ units and you said that was US sales???? I accept 1700+ for the SL500....Allante sold 6700 in 93." No chart or link I ever posted said anything like that. Period. It said (they MBUSA.COM) said 1721 sales for 1993. End of story. You said 700 or 800 in your confused state. The link didn't change from one posting ... Read More
I am already thinking of trading my 2004 RX330 (all my friends have seen it) for a sedan. I am considering the 2004 LS 430, Audi A8L, and Jaguar XJ8. I hope to drive the Audi and Jaguar this weekend. I hated driving 90 minutes for service for the Audi. The Audi A6 was troublesome. I never had a problem with my Q45 (1994) or 2002 LS430, so I didn't mind ... Read More
I own a 2001 S Type 4.0 and have not had one single problem in 25,000 miles.Wonderful car! This was my second Jag after I purchased a 2000 S Type 3.0 and almost went Lemon Law after having an unusual amount of problems...Jaguar replaced my car and made me a customer for life. And despite what I have read about pre-1994 XJ40 sedans I went and purchased a 1991 Jade Green ... Read More
That 90 VDP.. that was VERY cheap for that car actually... I just sold a 1990 VDP with 48K on it for $9,500 and have since turned down 2 offers for what I was asking for the car (Which was more $$..) That Sovereign is not a real steal... full pop retail with those miles. $10-11K is more like it. 100K+ mile cars in perfect condition break $5K at dealer auctions. ... Read More
In the news today: BY DAN HART BLOOMBERG NEWS WASHINGTON -- Ford Motor Co.'s Jaguar unit is recalling about 3,550 of its 1994 to 1996 XJ12 and XJS sedans because faulty emission-control parts may cause the cars to exceed U.S. air-pollution standards, a government agency said. About 550 XJ12s from 1995 and 1996 have a problem with the air-pump check valve, while about 3,000 XJ12 and XJS cars from 1994 and ... Read More

A "real" XJ6, according to purists, anyway, are the models made from 1969 until 1987. XJ40's are the more squared off Jags (look for rectangle taillights) from 1988 until 1994, and the X300 is the 1995-1997 Jags. Some call the 1998 & newer X300's, and some call them the X308, the last number denoting the V-8 engine. Sound simple enough? Now for the really confusing stuff. For quite a while, the ... Read More
Why is it a fantasy? Doesnt have to be silly :) In a recent Orlando Sentinel: "1994 Jaguar XJ6. One Owner, 71K, New Pirellis, Flamenco Red with Tan Leather, Immaculate condition, $10,950 firm, car is in Winter Park..." Hmm.... get a loan from peoplefirst.com Bingo. $250/mo for 48 months borrowing $10K against it and you're driving a Jaguar for Hyundai money. Bill
