Bought the car new by trading in a lemon BMW and junker Wagoneer. Car has absolutely been one of the most reliable I have ever been associated with. Only work done was a starter, A/C clutch and compressor, rear wheel bearing and ignition wires and coils (just now). I drive it every day, have towed campers and boats, and generally used it for everything imaginable. Doesn't use any oil, always starts and the finish has held up well. With the age now some of the upholstery and dash plastic is beginning to show wear.

Since I have first purchased my Trooper, I have only have to make repairs on wear and tire stuff. Like new tires and front end repairs (this was the first time it had been repaired since 1994). I have found my Trooper to be very reliable, but not very cost effective in mileage. It is a great SUV though for the true outdoorsman / woman/ family.

Bought second new Trooper
(Japanese assembled)in 94 for wife's
interior design business.Also bought
98 Mercedes C class and an 03 BMW X5
during these years. This Trooper has
been absolutely outstanding(as
reliable as the germans) for over 10
years- Only had to replace the starter
and battery. We think we ought to buy a
new SUV but every time we look at and
drive the Trooper (washed and
polished) we marvel at how new its
still looks and performs. The seats on
the 94 model were so well made that
they still look and feel almost brand
new. The cargo area is big and tall.
This is an SUV you just can't justify
selling. Talk about getting your
