I own a 1988 Isuzu Trooper II. It has a rather beaten up old 2.6-liter V4 in it. I want to put in a 3.2 V6 in it or higher, i know this involves alot of remounting and engine rummeging but Im not sure how much. I know I want to get rid of the 2.6 but a 2.8 just isnt enough for me. Would the standard Tranny be able to mate with an engine higher than a 2.8? Ive already got 33" Mickey ... Read More...

Not sure if this will help but be sure it is not in 4WD!! It is not supposed to go over 45mph I think. Just a thought. Also, I have slowly realized that it is ok to run the rpms up.I have a 4 banger and it loves to be run at 3k and higher. When I have been towing very heavy stuff up hills and mountains I always down shift right at 25k rpm and it will rev to about 35k.. just let it wind ... Read More...

I am sure an oil cooler does offer some extended engine life to some point if exposed to brutal enviroments, but it can also leave you stranded with no means of a quick fix. I once had a hose chaff on metal and busted draining almost all the engine oil. I just happened to notice smoke which was burning on the exhaust to stop in time. Hi and welcome, As you are learning, electrical problems seem to top the list on any forum but maybe even more on the Isuzu's! I don't have your model truck, but.......... Very often the alternator is the culprit....when it goes bad it wreaks havoc on the rest of the system. Try just unhooking it and see if you get any different result. Cleaning the grounds is also ...
