Hi, I am an owner of a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo. I am wondering if you have had any issues with your ABS? My ABS light has been on intermittently since 2004. I found out recently that there had been a recall notice in 2003 to replace the ABS Integrated Coil Module on 1998 and 1999 Rodeos... but only in the United States. I was told by Transport Canada that a recall ... Read More
You mentioned that your ABS light is on... did you have the recall on your ABS "Coil Integrated Module" done back in 2003-2004?
I was at a local car dealership and saw a 2004 Isuzu Rodeo Sport. It has 65K on it, auto and looks to be nicely loaded. I think the price was about 10K. Are these things pretty reliable? I know nothing about this model. It is a 4X4 model. I don't even think Izusu's are around anymore, are they? Any thoughts on this vehicle would be greatly appreciated. THANKS!

Hello: My speedometer went haywire and now stopped or intermittently works, cruise switch does not work and check engine light came on. Been searching net for places to purchase the transmission mounted Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS); however, I can find no where to purchase, either new or used. My vehicle is 2004 Isuzu Rodeo, 3.5 liter V6, Automatic, 2 wheel drive. Any help on how to repair or where to purchase ... Read More
The suv is coming up on the end of the warranty and there is an acceleration problem. When you step on the gas, it sounds like the emergency brake is on and the transmission is laboring. There is no isuzu dealership in Lubbock, Texas and I do not know of a reputable mechanic/dealership to take it to. The vehicle has 54,700 miles. Any suggestions on who I can take the vehicle ... I have a '98 Isuzu Rodeo. I purchased it used in 2004 and have had so many problems. After almost $6000 of repairs, some of the issues are still present and the rest are still there. Over heats, sometimes will not turn over, engine light comes on frequently, at times stalls when I take my foot of the break. The RPM's go to nothing when I take my foot off the ... Read More
2004 Isuzu Rodeo 3.2 Automatic I wanted to know when is the transmission maintenance sue. The manual is not clear on this. It only suggest when to check the fluid not when it should be changed. I have asked the dealer they said every 30K. I use to have a 2000 Amigo wich has the same engine and that had a sealed transmission and had to be changed at 120,000 miles. ... Read More
Hi, this is my first posting and I need help! My 2002 6-cyl / 3.2L Rodeo now has 62,000 miles on it. At about 40,000 miles, my check engine light began coming on and staying on. After several visits to a somewhat local Isuzu dealer here in Chicagoland, no one can find the problem. The dealer has cleaned the fuel injectors, installed a new engine harness, but I still go through ... Read More
Hello. . I'm NOT a mechanic and I live in a foreign country where nobody has computer diagnostics here for my Isuzu Rodeo 2004. The vehicle has 5,000 miles on it. Previously, the 4WD would work fine. At some point, the 4WD would not turn off when I turned the 4WD switch off. The only way to turn off the 4wd would be to stop the vehicle, turn off the engine, ... Read More
I bought a brand new 04 Rodeo in December of 04. About 5 or 6 months later, I started noticing it acting funny (i.e. no power, missing, sometimes wouldn't start the first time, etc...). It had about 18000 miles on it so I took it in to the dealership. It had to have all new spark plugs, because the ones in it were bad. Even after that the problem wasn't completely ... Read More
has any one with a 2004 Rodeo had any problems or issues with the new feature from "hell". I have had my 2004 rodeo since last July 2004. After replacing the poor bridgestone tires at about 20k miles. I have had my rodeo in the shop about 10 times for that blasted low tire pressure light on the dashboard. the dealer has been kind but it is becoming a waste of ... Read More
You should be able to get $6500 off the invoice, possibly even $1K more. Direct engine-optioned Rodeos are pricey, not very common, and not much cheaper than a similarly equipped Axiom which I'd personally go for. I would also look at Mitsubishi Montero Sports. They currently have a $3000 rebate (hopefully, they can up it soon), much more compliant ride, good though thirsty 3.5l 197HP engine, better reliability than the Rodeo ... Read More
I want to trade up from my '01 Rodeo to an '04. Good idea? Good deals? Better SUV out there? Thanks for any ideas!
You will want to read this article. Found the pointer in the "Isuzu pulling out of Canada? Maybe the US too" discussion. http://www.usatoday.com/money/autos/2004-04-20-isuzu_x.htm Rodeo production stops July 23rd. There will ONLY be the Ascender 5 & 7 passenger until the 2007 model year. In 2007 Isuzu plans to be completely free of GM and bring a new, completely ISUZU vehicle to the US.
I'm looking into purchasing a 2004 Rodeo. Just basic RWD and Preferred Equipment Package 2WD, This basic class of transportation that I'm in the market to buy. Pricing is very attractive. Can you please post your pros and cons as an owner of a Rodeo? In addition, when is the 2005 available to the market (August)? A sales man told in somewhere in October to November. I don't believe him. Finally, ... Read More
Here is the beginning of the Rodeo Review: >What Edmunds.com Says >An impressive V6 engine makes its debut for 2004. Too bad it has to be in the under-achieving >Rodeo. I never, ever, place any value on what Edmunds has to say about a vehicle. Ever! When I sold my Rodeo, it was to an individual who already owned one. I have owned three myself. How many of you Trooper guys ... Read More
