2001 Isuzu Rodeo S 2WD 4dr SUV (2.2L 4cyl 5M)
Review
I own an Isuzu Rodeo 4 cy. 5 speed. While the overall experience with my truck has been good, the most recent problems have concerned me. It has blown a headgasket twice now and I feel that the 4 cyl. engine is not enough muscle for the weight of the truck.
Favorite Features
I love the room that the interior provides and the ability to create more room when the back seats lay flat.
Suggested Improvements
I would not have put the 4 cyl. engine in a truck this size. There is not enough horse power to pass someone on the highway or get you out of tight spot in a hurry.

There seem to be many issues with high mileage. We bought brand new. Did not however have any problems til now. With 213600 miles on it, I just had to replace the wiring harness @ $2000.00 and this morning it would not move. It pulls a horse trailer with no problems.

Prices of parts to repair are too costly
Wish I never would have bought it

Review
I purchased this truck almost new (5,000 mile demo) and other than scheduled maintenance (and a blown transmission at 98,000 miles, which was covered under the fantastic 110,000 mile warranty). I have not had any problems that would cause me to not like or even buy another of this mid-size SUV.
Favorite Features
Lots of space and quite comfortable (contrary to what most people have written).
Suggested Improvements
A much quieter interior ride would be nice - weather stripping around doors is attached by clips and not adhesive, comes loose frequently allowing for wind noise through gaps.

I bought the vehicle brand new back in sept. of '01 and haven't had any major problems with it. This SUV is rock solid. I have put this suv through hell and back. I haven't changed the oil since november of last year and it has 162k miles on it. I've had it for so long i've given up on it dying. I take it offroad all the time which i've never gotten stuck. I drive it like i stole it atleast 95 mph on the highways everyday and drive in bumper to bumper in afternoons. I haven't had to replace anything really except the belts and a couple batteries. This is an awesome suv
