I too have deal with this idiot Terry at Isuzu what a jerk! I have a 2001 rodeo that cant have the recall fixed to rust but they are using that as an issue when determining the amount to buy the truck back. My last attempt with them was today take the deal or you are out of luck is what I got. I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade ... Read More
I have a 2001 isuzu rodeo 3.2. The check transmission light and cruise control light come on at the same time and then the engine stalls or dies and now it only drives in reverse. Please help! Thank you.
Could you give a short rundown of how it works. I just "lost" my Isuzu to the dealership a couple of days ago. And was told that they would be contacting me for a buyback with no specifics. How long does this process take and what does it involve? How long does it take to get the check. I can't seem to find this info anywhere if you could please enlighten ... Read More
As much as it sucks, Isuzu doesn't care since they're not in the car-selling market anymore. I got 2700.00 for my 2001 and that was good compared to other offers I saw on here. Wish you the best with yours...
they said that my 2001 Rodeo was not able to be repaired and pics were sent to the main headquarters, so I called them today and they said that they were in the process of doing whatever it is they do, I have not received an offer as of yet but I don't have to tell you or anyone else with this issue how pissed off I will be if the ... I have a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo. Love the vehicle, but the engine has begun to shut down (no sputtering) at random speeds or idling. The dashboard code is: cruise control/check transmition. I've taken it to three mechanics, none of whom could find the problem (the computer apparently is wiping the codes when the engine shuts down.) Transmission has been changed with no effect to the problem. Anyone had the same issue? ... Read More
I'm late to the party here - I cosigned on a 2001 Rodeo Sport S for my daughter last year. We still owe $4,500 on the car, but just yesterday experienced the rusting frame issue. We filed a complaint with the NHTSA and with our ... Read More
I had a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo which needed a fuel pump. My mechanic said I should not put money into repairs due to extensive corrosion to the frame. He said the car was too dangerous to drive. My wife's 2001 Rodeo had a frame rot & trailing arm bracket mount failure in April 2009. We recently received the recall info & have submitted a claim for reimbursement. Time will tell how it goes.
I just bought a 2001 Isuzu Rodeo. The engine is shot and I am wanting to swap it for a Chevy v8. Does anyone have any helpful knowledge? are there Adapter kits, or should I swap the tranny and transfer case also? Any advice is appreciated!
I was told that the offer had a lot to do with how long you've owned your rodeo...they said they offered me more for my 2001 with 85,000 miles because I've owned it since 2001.
I was offered Kelly Blue Book ~ private sale, good condition, for my 2001 Isuzu Rodeo. After much thought I decided to take the money. I went to the dealership last week to sign over the vehicle. I have a '00 Trooper. Just got an estimate from the local Isuzu/Chevy dealer on timing belt and water pump. They want $800 for the package. I'm looking at other options now...that is a little bit high for me.
If you have a v-6 engine, you will not damage your engine if the t-belt breaks. If you have a 4 cylinder, then you will damage the engine if the belt breaks. You should replace the timing belt, tensioner, and waterpump at one time with your mileage because they tend to fail at around 80k miles. The price seems reasonable if the waterpump is included.Check with an Isuzu dealer because they usually have a timing belt package ... Anybody had any experience with extended warranty? I'm getting close to the end of my manufacture warranty (powertrain will stay but Bumper-to-Bumper is running out). I have a 2001 Rodeo LS and am having a few problems that the dealer says are normal on Isuzus. This vehicle will not run without pinging on any gas except 93 octane. Also after coming to a stop and then starting off again you can feel a thump in the transmission or drive shaft. Have any of you other owners experienced these problems and if so any suggestions.

I have had the vehicle in for service only once since then for the 15K service and a check engine light (loose gas cap). My service advisor, Sean, was very courteous and helpful. Where did you have your Rodeo serviced?

One dealer did locate it, but after I waited for two weeks and called them to get the status on ... Read More

The tape deck/radio remains intact and there are buttons for a CD player,so it must have been there at one stage...dealer ... Read More
