I just spoke to Terry today and he said the price is NOT including the rust! They seem to be telling different stories constantly!!!
Yeah, Terry's a real peice of work! I am forced to deal with him almost on a daily basis. I put him in his place and he is now a LOT kinder, but I use the opportunity to ask him why he is such an asshole to all these people; how does he sleep at night?; what will he do when someday he looks back and has to answer for his ... I too have deal with this idiot Terry at Isuzu what a jerk! I have a 2001 rodeo that cant have the recall fixed to rust but they are using that as an issue when determining the amount to buy the truck back. My last attempt with them was today take the deal or you are out of luck is what I got. I filed a complaint with the Federal Trade ... Read More
I own a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo that I bought in June of last year. When I took it for inspection, it didn't pass because of the frame. I took it to a welding/frame specialist who informed me after inspection that the frame was unrepairable due to excessive rust/corrosion. He had the car up to December 29, trying to locate an acceptable replacement frame, until he said I better take it to ... Read More
I am having the same problem with the ENTIRE frame being rusted. Any idea who I would call at Isuzu to talk to about this. If they wanna do a buy back - they can have it - at a reasonable price. We've already spent $600 getting the frame welded only to have the mechanic tell us that the entire frame and front end is rusted and it won't pass inspection. ... Read More

Hi, I am an owner of a 1998 Isuzu Rodeo. I am wondering if you have had any issues with your ABS? My ABS light has been on intermittently since 2004. I found out recently that there had been a recall notice in 2003 to replace the ABS Integrated Coil Module on 1998 and 1999 Rodeos... but only in the United States. I was told by Transport Canada that a recall ... Read More
Ok! Here comes my story. Took 1999 Rodeo LS to Peters of Nashua. It is a "Stage 4". I knew it. I've done work on a frame of the car over the past 2 years. My 1966 Mustang frame, that I've restored 7 years ago, looked 1000 times better!!!!! Frame is decomposing!!!! You cannot weld to rust - simple as that. I don't think that we are going to get much ... derving2010: I've had all of your problems with my 1999 Rodeo and can not find a solution. I was wondering if yours is still doing good after replacing the fuel pressure regulator? Thanks
Incorrect display such as this could be the transmission mode switch. Many times when the switch needs cleaning or replacing, the display will be incorrect and many times you will experience hard shifting. My Trooper does this occasionally. Usually I am able to cycle the shifter full cycle several time while stopped. Then turn the ignition off and back on. Most of the time this corrects the problem. Note that the ... Read More
For a week now every morning I have to crank my car 3 times before it would start. I'd like to know what is my car trying to tell me? My son thinks it's the fuel pump.
Hi! I've had the Rodeo for nearly 10 years and love it. However, the trasmission is now not shifting smoothly. I assume low fluid or fluid that needs to be replaced. The owner's manual says to replace the fluid every "X" miles. I asssume the dealership has been doing that...............I go to a Honda dealership because there is no Isuzu dealership where I live. The vehicle now has 105K miles on ... Read More
It's sad another Isuzu bit the dust but don't spend $4K on this truck, especially since it involves a terribly old engine to begin with... It will not last and your tranny will be next. It's time to move on. You'll get at least ten trouble-free, safer, and more economical years out of any new car out there right now.
Exactly same thing happened to my 1999 Rodeo 133K miles on it, suddenly started making knocking sound and stopped and i ended up towing the car to mechanic, where they said engine is dead, on of the piston broke and it is making noise. To replace engine it costs around $4000 for 100k used engine. Car worth itself is $2500. is it worth to invest $4000 ? I noticed one thing ... Read More
I have a 1998 - engine replaced at 75,000 miles - I would NEVER AGAIN spend that much money on an Isuzu. Parts will get harder to find since they are pulling out of the US.

I have a 2001 rodeo same problems as everyone else. Talked to Isuzu today and they told me that they were aware of the problem as well, and gave me a Case Number. Still waiting and calling. Called Honda again Friday 4/30/10, pretty much told the same thing, but I did get a case number from them to add to the information I'll be sending to NHTSB. I also called Isuzu Friday 4/30/10 and spoke with a Jim in customer service. Was told they were aware of the problem, unfortunately for me the Passports are being handled through Honda, I wonder what response I ... Read More

Brian, Have a 14 mm socket on a 1/2 drive ratchet ready. I drew a diagram of the way the belt routes and it's saved the each time I've had it off to either replace or do other maint. The most common thing I've been told about a sticking throttle problem is due to throttle body being dirty (where the valvle opens and closes). This isn't to bad to do, the air intake duct that comes from the air filter housing and plugs into the front top of the engine (the only really big duct connected to the eng.) has to be loosened, moved forward and out of the way, ... Does anyone know how to fix the shift lock control on a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo. I usually have to rock the car a bit to get the shift lock to release in order to put the car in gear (automatic). The other work around is to start the car in Neutral.
Out of curiousity, how have you arrived at the conclusion that you need a new ABS module? Did you do a code check on the vehicle and if so, what was code(s)? Module is expensive and bleeding the system can be problematic if not done in proper sequence, would hate to see you get in over your head if module is not source of problem.
Whats the procedure for replacing the ABS module? Is there some type of air in there when i take it off is there something special i have to do? Trying not to get into trouble and cause more problems with it the ABS just quite working and light on. Thanks
I have a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo 2WD 2.2 Litre 4 cylinder (CK58D) which has a bent rear driver's side half shaft. I can't seem to find any company on the internet that lists this part. Can anyone please put me in contact with a supplier who could help?
Update on my shifting problem on 1999 Isuzu Rodeo (intermittent clunking between gears). Did alot of research and the consensus I found was that there is a transmission range sensor that apparently gets moist every time I run through puddles. If I drive for awhile, the problem always clears up (must dry out). I found an article which shows how to change it but I don't know how to attach it. ... Read More

I have a 1999 Isuzu Rodeo. Oleg- You don't see a whole lot of information out there on the 1998-2003 rodeo 2.2L. This engine is actually a GM/Daewoo/Holden derivative. The same engine is in the Daewoo Leganza. I left my car parked for six days while on a trip. When I returned my 1999 Isuzu Rodeo, V6, automatic transmission behaved erratically. Any ideas what might have caused that to happen?
