I'm considering buying a 1996 Rodeo LS 4WD from a local dealer. According to the ad, it only has 75,196 miles on it (!) but it also comes with a 3 month/4500 mile warranty. It looks great and so many of the other Isuzu Rodeo posts are so positive... The price at the dealer is $3,995, which is right up my alley. All things equal, should I go for it? I ... Read More

I have a question about the timing belt on my 1996 Honda Passport. The truck only has 120K on it, but I'm unsure if the previous owner ever replaced the timing belt. I'm almost sure that I'm going to do it in the very near future so that I know that it has been done. My question is that in the Haynes manual that I bought that covers the Honda Passport ... My rodeo is having problems, it starts and as it is idling it sounds like it is struggling to get fuel or power. I also notice that the battery indication fluctuates when I press on the brake. When I put it in reverse it almost stalls out. I backed out of the driveway slightly then I put it in drive and it just started rolling back and the brakes wouldn't even ... Read More

collinjeremy- You hit on the main thing already. The rig was well maintained by your friend. The 2.3/2.6's may be a bit underpowered- depending on what you are used to, but they are good isuzu engine. The weakest link for them is the cylinder head. They can crack on you. Always keep the cooling system top knotch, change the oil regularly & you'll get a lot of miles out of it. ... Read More
