Hum I went to smog my 1991 Isuzu Rodeo a week ago, and the truck passed the emissions part of the " test only" smog. But when the man came to take a visual of the smog system, he said ohhhhhhh nooooooooo, you took your smog pump off. Sorry to hear about your problem. Seems this year has allot of trouble with the transmission. I'd check to see if there is a recall on the trans. Me if I had to tow the car I would Have. I also would have rented a car. A couple of hundred in car rental is way cheaper than $4,000.00 also you just voided any warranty on the isuzu.. It would have been way cheaper than the $4,000.00 ... I had a similar problem with my 2002 Rodeo. It wouldn't shift out of 1st gear. I had to get the transmission replaced at the nearest mechanic shop. Isuzu wouldn't honor the warranty telling me I should have had it towed 50 miles to the dealer. I don't think the 6 month old in the car at the time would have liked riding in the tow truck. I have a 1991 Isuzu Rodeo 4 wheel drive. I took it to a mechanic yesterday because when the vehicle gets warm and it idles the pressure needle on the gauge goes down to "0" and the oil light comes on. They took the oil pan off to replace the oil pump and discovered that the pump was working fine so they put the pan back on. I am sure they did some other things also to check it. ... Read More...

No doubt about it, MSRP's were really shocking up to 2003. Plus isuzu didnt really advertise the huge factory to dealer rebates for 2002 either (isnt that surprising!)
