Oil gets pretty dark pretty quick in normal use, so I don't know if you can tell much of anything about it just by looking at it. The Dark Oil Myth. It's supposed to hold "dirt" in suspension. Purchased the car in Sept for $5,400 It is not 4 Wheel Drive, I prefer that for Califonia Hwys Milage was 70,000 I have since put 10,000 miles on the car. What I notice is that when the car is cold in the morning, it revs past 1300 RPM and then eventually after 2 min, settles below 750 RPM after it warms up. I made the ultimate stupid mistake today when jumpstarting my 02 Isuzu Axiom. For a brief second or two, I hooked up the jumper cable to the battery BACKWARDS. Maybe the rest of you will think I am crazy, but I just purchased a 2004 Axiom with 73K miles. I have a 1999 Vehicross and a 1999 Amigo. I live in the high mountains of Colorado at 10,300 feet. I have a 2004 Isuzu Axiom I love the vehicle & have been happy with it, however last winter & now this winter when the temperature gets below zero the truck will start & I will let it idle for 10-15 minutes & then it dies & will not start again unless it sits for a while & then it does the same thing, has any one else had this problem? I own a 2004 Axiom XS and I love the vehicle. Great ride and very comfortable. Current mileage is 24000+. My MPG breaks down like this: City driving 18 - 20 MPG Hghwy driving (55 - 61 MPH) 25 - 27 MPG Hghwy driving (62+ MPH) 21 - 23 MPG You can watch the MPG drop as you increase the speed beyond 61. I don't know where to start, let's see last Dec, 2004 I took my 02 Axiom in to the dealers and they fixed my seal as well, last week, the end of Nov 2005, I found my tranny doing the same and getting worse. My 02 is up to 89,000 miles and I have an outside 100,000 warranty as well. Isuzu said I need a new tranny and did not want to cover it, they requested my service invoices ... Read More...
