Review of the 2004 Isuzu Axiom

  • Isuzu's Rodeo-based Axiom is a compromise that will please few consumers. It looks like a car, but drives like a truck. Most people buying SUVs today prefer the opposite.

  • Safety
  • Pros

Strong V6 engine, distinctive styling, slick four-wheel-drive system.

  • Cons

Old tech underpinnings, cumbersome control layout, slow steering, tight legroom in front seat.

  • What's New for 2004

More power is the word for 2004. The Axiom's 3.5-liter V6 engine features new gasoline "direct injection" technology to improve both horsepower and torque. Of a less exciting nature, the audio system doesn't include a tape player anymore and the speaker count drops by two for a total of six. Outside, there's a new chrome finish for the front grille and for the XS model's optional alloy wheels.

Vehicle: 2004 Isuzu Axiom S Rwd 4dr SUV (3.5L 6cyl 4A)

We have loved our Axiom ever since we purchased it. It's perfect for our family of four. It handles and drives well. We had a Rodeo before the Axiom and loved our Rodeo as well.

I thought SUV's were only for the rich. I just bought a Isuzu Axiom and I need a degree to learn all it does. It is classy, sporty and handles great. I used to have a Toyota Tacoma and the seats were important to me as if it isnt comfortable I am not going to want to stay in it for long and as most Southern California people know we do a lot of driving. It handles great, and I always know where I am going as it has the compus on the screen and temperture controlls. My sun glasses never get lost now because it is like a well orgainzed machine, with something for everone. Speaking for someone that gets hot flashes the tempurture controls are so great becau

Generally sastified.

Drivers seat does not go back far enough.Tight leg room on drivers side.Drivers seat back does not pivot at base, instead it pivots at mid back area.
