Review

4 years and the only repair was a tuning light bulb! Replace the factory Good Years and the ride quality will improve. I got a set of Pirelli Scorpion ATR - 80 miles/hour and you can hear only a little wind noise! Gas mileage is average, but OK for an SUV - I will say better than most SUVs with same engine size. If you are looking for a used SUV, this will beat by far any other used SUV available in value/reliability/price!

Favorite Features

Ride, power, being safe and known that I will get where I want without problems.

Suggested Improvements

Discontinued - too bad, the only suggestion is to make them again. How about a hybrid version?

Review

A good vehicle with a bad rep. I dont know why people are ripping on the transmission, which is the same exact transmission that was in the Trooper from 90 to 02 and is also in many GM vehicles. Great engine and serious acceleration. Never left me stranded. Only typical wear and tear in the 5 years I've had it. Won't sell it because its resale is lower than its actual value.

Favorite Features

Computer display in center console has loads of good info, Best SUV acceleration for its year and good looking front grille.

Suggested Improvements

Front seats are a little low, shocks are a bit stiff (they must have thought I was going to race it).

Review

Car has been very reliable and is eye-catching in appearance. I still get people asking me, even after 5 years old and 3 years since last Axiom was made, what kind of car it is and where can they look at a new one. The styling obviously made it impossible to put in a third row seat but have to say that I have never needed to carry more than 5 people and sometimes go for months with the rear seats folded down. It's been a great car and although I plan on my next purchase being a sedan, I will keep the Axiom.

Favorite Features

Styling, acceleration, interior, sunroof.

Suggested Improvements

NA since not made anymore but from time it was new, I think a five speed or 6 speed transmission would have helped gas mileage.

Truck is fun to drive, could get better gas mileage. Plenty of torque.

Favorite Features

Seat color, outside temp, TOD, self dimming rear view mirror.

Review

Neat SUV! I would say that this is one of the most unique SUVs that I have ever seen. It is nice to own a vehicle that not everyone has. This truck is awesome. I did have to replace the front shocks and rear brake rotors when I purchased my Axiom, but I can honestly say that this comes with all USED vehicles. If you expect a vehicle in mint condition, get a NEW one. I thoroughly enjoy all that my Axiom has to offer.

Favorite Features

Torque on demand, four wheel drive, multiple suspension modes, engine power options, 6 disc changer, (tape deck), sleek interior equipped with leather and tinted windows, roomy cargo capibilities, very stylish exterior, powerful v6 with option to tow, I LOVE IT!!

FUN LITTLE SUV BUT GAS HOG!!!!

I had bought this car without doing any information about the car, If I were you listen to this REVIEW!!!!!! I had bought it Aug. 2006 w/79xxx miles and when I got home I relized the shocks needed to be replaced....yeah no prob. but like $200 a shock...ouch... and finding parts for this car is IMPOSIBLE!!!!! especially the front control pannel...b/c this car has buttons to control like AM/FM and AC the buttons fall out and I so far have taped them cause it costs $500 to replace the hole pannel not just the buttons...anyhow that is about it besides the back leg room is horrible and the back storage is also bad ....but that is what you get for a SMALL SUV....AND ITS A GAS HOG about 13/17.

Favorite Features

Nice orange glow at night inside...sunroof ....but be careful with the plastic around the glass you can get the sunroof caught in the track...and sweet stero...and 6 cd changer...but its in the armrest :(

Suggested Improvements

Better gas milege...more room in back and better materials inside...and better leather...hard to clean up (blue jeans stain this leather and you have to clean it about once every 4 days) oh and paint is pealing off letters of car....:(

The suv looks nice and has a lot of special features other trucks don't have. The leather interior is great as is the CD changer.

CD player.

Suggested Improvements

Seats could raise up and down. Also the suspension is horrible - you bounce around like you're on a roller coaster.

Review

I was rear-ended; I was at a stand still and was hit from behind at about 70 miles per hour. My Axiom was thrown into the guardrail at a great rate of impact. I walked away. There is nothing left of my SUV except an untouched driver and passenger seat. Way to go on safety. The fireman told me he had seen three Axioms involved in bad accidents like mine and the drivers all lived.

Cargo room, digital display.

Suggested Improvements

More driver, passenger seat comfort. Plusher seats.

Axiom driving

Review

The vehicle has been quite good and not required other than normal maintenance. Got it to tow my boat and it is quite adequate. Need to replace rear wiper arm and it is a very non standard design, though the front arms are standard. Can't buy it anywhere. Top heavy like all SUV/4wd and need to be aware of that. Gas mileage is poor - average 19.5 under the best of conditions, much worse with a load.

Favorite Features

Dash command center is great once you learn all the options. CD player is good too. Very crisp and attractive lines.

Suggested Improvements

Create some space for storing small items as there is none and they go in the large storage area. Get a standard arm for the rear wiper.
