"The Fast and the Furious Meet Sin City" pretty much sums up the 2002 SEMA show. Organized by the Specialty Equipment Marketers Association, the SEMA show is a showcase of all things aftermarket. Whether it's a four-foot-tall spoiler for a Civic or a paint-on bedliner for a pickup, just about everything automotive tinkers can dream up is on display somewhere in the halls of the Las Vegas Convention Center.
Although it's billed as the ultimate showcase for aftermarket goods, the importance of the SEMA show hasn't been overlooked by the world's largest automakers. Nearly every major manufacturer will be present with plenty of goodies on hand. A few major announcements are expected from the Big Three, while the Japanese and Korean brands are guaranteed to generate a lot of buzz of their own.
Whatever happens, we'll be there to bring you up to speed on all the latest trends with a plethora of photos, specs and in-depth analysis OK, maybe light-hearted wisecracks are more like it, but you'll get the picture. Heck, maybe we'll even catch a glimpse of O'Conner scoping out the aisles we hear he needs an eight-second car to drive in the sequel.
