What is it?
Pontiac Sunfire HO 2.4

What's special about it?
One glance, and it's obvious that this is no ordinary Sunfire. A heavily revised front and rear fascia along with body-color fender flares give this Pontiac coupe a sharp-edged, aggressive look that normal Sunfires can only dream about. The three-piece rear spoiler is a little over the top, but the mesh screened hood intakes certainly add a Pontiac flair to the car. A lowered ride height and 18-inch wheels and tires help to give it just the right stance, while a chromed dual exhaust and mesh taillight screens finish off the customized coupe at the rear.

Sparco sport seats with an enhanced safety harness system provide plenty of rock-solid support along with increased driver and front passenger safety. The upgraded sound system features XM Satellite radio and a DVD video system.

Why should you care?
Considering the fact that the Sunfire will likely be discontinued after the 2003 model year, there's really nothing to get excited about. We were a little taken aback by how good this concept looked considering its less than promising origins. Few, if any, of this concept car's numerous enhancements will make to the production car before its demise, however, so we're left to wonder what could have been if Pontiac had managed to come up with this concept just a few years earlier. —Ed Hellwig
