STUTTGART, Germany — Porsche will be unveiling new models in the 911 range at the 2008 Paris Auto Show — but almost as noteworthy is that the German automaker will be showing off the special-edition Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2, Cayman S Sport and Cayenne S Transsyberia.

All 10 models in the 911 series will now feature direct fuel injection and a more efficient engine, which can be coupled with Porsche's new seven-speed double-clutch transmission for optimal performance. A design highlight is the 16.5-square-foot glass roof offered on the Targa that can be opened in a mere 7 seconds.

Both the Boxster S Porsche Design Edition 2 and the Cayman S Sport are equipped with a 3.4-liter six-cylinder engine that makes 303 horsepower. Performance is enhanced on the Cayman S Sport with the addition of an active suspension management system that lowers the vehicle 0.4 inch and includes 5mm spacer rings behind the huge 19-inch wheels.

The Design Edition 2 has production limited to 500 units and will only come painted in Carrara White, while Porsche is building 700 Cayman S Sports in a variety of colors. Pricing starts at $66,900 for the Boxster and $69,000 for the Cayman — but don't wait to order one, since the U.S. will only see 50 Boxsters and approximately 100 Caymans.

The automaker will be introducing its 2010 Cayenne S Transsyberia at the show as well, which is considered by the automaker as "the most capable Cayenne yet." It will feature the Cayenne GTS's 408-hp V8, air suspension and permanent all-wheel drive. Contrasting mirrors and wheels are just a few of the exterior goodies loaded on this rally monster. Pricing starts at $70,800, and only 600 will be made available for the U.S.
