PARIS — Ford on Thursday rolled out the Ka Digital, Ka Grand Prix and Ka Tattoo at the 2008 Paris Auto Show, proving that appearance packages can command as much attention as horsepower and hybrids.

The showy option packages will be available on the Ford Ka Zetec model only. Prices have not yet been announced. The packages will be available in January.

The Ka Tattoo looks like it was customized on L.A. Ink. The exterior touches include a large decal of a tattoo logo on the roof, as well as one on the fender. The interior gets tattoo logos on the seat backrests.

The Ka Grand Prix uses a motorsports theme and includes such design cues as red seats with an embossed white pattern and red leather trim on the steering wheel. The exterior has patterned body stripes with a solid-color grille and door mirrors.

The Ka Digital gets patterned body stripes and a solid green grille surround. The gear knob and handbrake handle are done up in green leather with an aluminum finish.

What this means to you: Think of this as Paris meets SEMA, as customization takes the forefront. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
