AUBURN HILLS, Michigan — Chrysler says it will celebrate the silver anniversary of the minivan by including a Chrysler Grand Voyager 25th-anniversary edition at its 2008 Paris Auto Show display next week. The automaker says this minivan appearance package will go on sale in international markets in early 2009.
Exterior cues on the 25th-anniversary edition, which is powered by a turbodiesel engine, include 17-inch aluminum wheels, chromed belt and body-side moldings and a roof rack with cross bars. The cabin gets satin finishes and leather seats with French-seamed stitching. Caustic-tongued bloggers are already urging Chrysler to leave this offering at home.
Chrysler introduced diesel-powered minivans in Europe in 1993.
What this means to you: Maybe this is one anniversary that should have passed without any fanfare. — Anita Lienert, Correspondent
