BREA, California — Suzuki on Thursday issued an intriguing teaser image of its Concept Kizashi 3, a sport sedan with a luxury bent that is set for a worldwide debut at the upcoming 2008 New York Auto Show. The concept is the third in a triumvirate of Kizashi concepts that together are said to indicate the brand's future design direction.
The Concept Kizashi 3 will make its formal debut on March 20. The image released this week shows a dramatic-looking sedan that would look comfortable with a Lexus or Infiniti badge. Exterior design details include a long hood, a yawning grille, oversized wheels and tires and a low-slung, curving roof line. Suzuki uses such adjectives as "sleek" and "athletic" to describe its latest concept. No word yet on powertrain or other technical specifications.
The automaker says the Concept Kizashi 3 "suggests both Suzuki's future design direction and stated intent to offer a larger, more upscale sport sedan." It added that the concept provides a "closer-to-production vision of a future Suzuki sport sedan."
The Concept Kizashi debuted at the 2007 Frankfurt Auto Show, followed by the Concept Kizashi 2 at the 2007 Tokyo Auto Show.
