LOS ANGELES — Infiniti unveiled its new G37 convertible at the 2008 Los Angeles Auto Show and said the car will go on sale next spring in North America and later in other global markets.

The drop-top G has a three-piece retractable hardtop as well as a Bose open-air sound system that can change equalization settings depending on speed, outside noise and position of the top. An adaptive climate control system likewise adjusts fan speed based on top position and vehicle speed.

The G convertible is equipped with a 325-horsepower 3.7-liter V6 and a choice of six-speed manual gearbox or seven-speed automatic with paddle shifters.

Infiniti is offering a raft of high-tech equipment, including a rearview monitor, touchscreen nav with real-time traffic info, Music Box hard drive, adaptive headlamps and adaptive cruise control.

There are two models: the standard G37 Convertible and the G37S Convertible Sport 6MT, which bundles bigger brakes, 19-inch alloy wheels, W-rated performance tires and sport-tuned steering.

In partnership with Bloomingdale's department store, Infiniti is also offering a special G Convertible Premier Edition through the retailer's holiday catalog. The limited run of 200 cars will feature custom red leather upholstery, red-tone maple trim, a black grille and 19-inch tires on nine-spoke alloy wheels.
