There's a reason why the L.A. auto show is one of the premier auto shows in the country. With an ingrained car culture that influences design and market trends all over the world, the Los Angeles auto show is the perfect place to take the wraps off a hot new production model or concept car. This year's L.A. auto show kicks off its new fall schedule beginning Wednesday, November 29th. Here are a few of the anticipated highlights we can share with you until then.

Last year, General Motors went yellow to promote its flex-fuel vehicles. This year it's looking like green is going to be the color of choice as we expect to see at least two new hybrid vehicles from the General. This is in addition to the world premieres of the 2008 Saturn Vue and 2008 Buick Enclave. Ford may have some green on display, too, as we predict we'll see not only the face-lifted 2008 Ford Escape, but its hybrid version as well.
Nissan is going the opposite direction of the miserly hybrids with the premiere of the high-performance Sentra SE-R and Sentra SE-R Spec-V. And that won't be all as Nissan is also prepping what it describes as "a uniquely styled, exhilarating performance-oriented vehicle." Guess that won't be a hybrid either.
Not to be outdone, both Honda and Acura will have new concept cars on display, too. Not much is known about either one, but they may very well combine performance and hybrid technology. Mazda will have a new concept as well, dubbed the Nagare. Only a sketch has been released so far, but if Mazda's previous concepts are any indication the Nagare will be worth checking out.
Many of the other vehicles at the L.A. show will be North American debuts of cars and SUVs you might have already read about, such as Volvo's sporty C30, a revamped and renamed Land Rover LR2 (new Freelander), Porsche's always popular 911 Targa and, perhaps the best Ferrari ever produced, the awesome 599 GTB Fiorano. The Brits will show off the highly anticipated supercharged Lotus Exige S and Aston Martin V8 Vantage Roadster.
It's shaping up to be an exciting show in a town renowned for splashy red-carpet arrivals. Because we weren't allowed to tell you everything we know, be sure to check back on November 29th for photos, videos and blog posts straight from the show's floor. You won't want to miss it.
