The HHR looks more like a concept car than an actual wallet-friendly production vehicle, thanks to its retro style and tasteful chrome trim.
Bentley's Arnage Drophead may be a concept, but its ties to the Arnage sedan assure that it's headed for production soon.

There are hot cars, and then there are It cars. Everyday schlubs can drive hot cars, but It cars tend to be allotted to It people. This year's It car was the Bentley Continental GT and there was no shortage of Hollywood celebrities preening from behind the wheel of Britain's most conspicuous coupe. It's only fitting then that Bentley would choose the L.A. Auto Show for the debut of its latest creation &mdash the Arnage Drophead concept.

The L.A. show isn't reserved solely for celebrity chariots, however, as Chevrolet made a strong showing with a few new cars of its own. Most notable among them being the HHR. Think of it as Chevrolet's take on the PT Cruiser and you would be close. Then there's the people's car company, otherwise known as Volkswagen, that introduced an all-new version of its entry-level Jetta. It doesn't look like an entry-level car but that's probably the reason the previous version was such a success. Additional appearances were made by the BMW M3 Competition Coupe, a droptop version of the new Mustang and some interesting newcomers from Venturi and Spyker.

Who knows if any of these cars will attain It status, but an L.A. premiere isn't a bad start.
