Mazda Troy Lee Special Edition B-Series
LOS ANGELES-Mazda unveiled a new line of special edition pickup trucks today at the Los Angeles Auto Show. The modified B-Series pickup trucks, referred to as the Troy Lee Special Edition, feature raised suspensions, unique wheels and tires, distinct interiors, and Troy Lee-designed exterior graphics. The trucks will be available in 1999 in B2500, B3000 and B4000 configurations.

Troy Lee is a professional motocross racer and artist who has gained public acclaim for his wild and inspired helmet designs. Consequently, the graphics featured on the sides of the special edition pickups are characteristic of the over-the-top creations often depicted on the helmets of motorcycle racers. Mazda is a sponsor of motocross racing, and often depicts professional riders in their print and television advertising. Naturally, the youth market has been targeted for these trucks.

The Troy Lee Special Editions will be available in black, green, or red, and will only be offered in the extended cab body style. Prices have not yet been released, but projections for the B3000 special edition are expected to be near $18,000. Mazda expects to sell 4,000 Troy Lee Special Edition B-Series trucks in 1999.
