Ready to Buy 2003 QX4..Need advice

Hi all..First time poster here on the board. I am getting ready to look for a low milage..pristine..2003 Qx4...Need some advice over all when looking for what I want. I found a few with 38k - 41k miles offered at $23k - $24k. Looking at 2-3 year old SUV's and have the 2003 QX4 on my list. Am comparing it to Acura MDX and Highlander for styling and appearance (and I know the QX will feel more like a truck). I have a Nissan Maxima w/ 234k miles, so i know about the reliability/dependability. With the QX4 out of production, any issues regarding service, parts, etc.? I would imagine not, given ... I have a fairly new 2003 QX4 with about 8,000 miles. I am unhappy with an average of around 13 miles per gallon on the highway. I repeat, the highway. I don't drag race and am always around the speed limit. I also expressed a problem to my Infiniti dealer that when I put the vehicle in park and turn off the ignition there is a slight "lunge" forward with the vehicle. Anyone ... Read More...

I bought a used 2001 QX4 from my local infiniti dealer back in January and paid $24K. Loaded with everything except navigation and had 41600 miles. Mint condition inside and out, was turned in from a lease deal. Dealer certified vehicle and warranty still good till Nov 04. I agree with jack44 that is alot of miles for an 01, I'd check to see if the warranty has expired. ... Read More...

What can I do if I was overcharged for a service?

My wife recently took her 2003 QX4 in for its scheduled 30K mile maintenance. While the car was in the shop, the dealer called to report that the front brakes should be replaced. They added that she would save $200 and only pay $250 is she did this service now. While I don’t believe that the brakes needed replacement, this is not my main compliant. The real problem ... I currently have a 2003 QX4 and had the 2001 QX4 prior to that. While I can't speak to the Pathfinder, I can tell you that the QX4 is the best car I've ever owned. The main differences that I see between the 2 are the cosmetic designs, the service that Infiniti offers versus Nissan, the prestige that comes with driving an Infiniti, and the resale value. Since 2003 is the last year for the QX4, i would think any Infiniti dealer will give you a GREAT deal. When i bought my QX4 there was a $6000 discount and 3.9% fin. and that was a couple a months ago. The dealers are really pushing the QX4 to make room for it's replacement. Read More...
