  • Considering purchase of 2002 QX4

    Written by: sboisvert1 on Sep 11, 2010 3:11:03 PM

I own a 1998 Infiniti I30 and have loved it for the past 8 years. (bought it in 2002) It's now time to hand it down to my teenager and get myself a "new" vehicle. I found a 2002 QX4 with 133K on it. Dealer has agreed to sell for $7500. It has a few minor blemishes on the exterior, but it drives great and everything works. My concern is the ... Read More

I'm looking to buy a used SUV with 30K-80K miles, V6, and leather. I just saw a 2005 Pathfinder with 38K miles for sale on ebay for around $20,000 and a 2002 QX4 with 79K miles for sale on ebay for around $12,500. Which is the better bang for the buck? I like the Pathfinder because of its 3rd row seat. But is there anything else that it'll give me that ... Read More

  • Looking for experienced but affordable Nissan mechanic in Chicago

    Written by: cjeagle1 on Feb 25, 2007 12:46:58 AM

I just bought a 2002 QX4 with 107000 miles on it a few days ago. I am a little apprehensive as to the service and repair costs on this vehicle. Can anybody recommend a knowledgeable and experienced but affordable Nissan/Infiniti mechanic in the Chicago area preferably in the north suburbs that will come close to Edmund's recommended costs? Also what do you guys think about buying an extended warranty for this ... Read More

  • Clicking noise in rear passenger seat

    Written by: bigo1201 on Jan 22, 2007 5:10:38 PM

In my 2002 Infiniti QX4, there is a rattling noise coming from the area of the rear right passenger seat. It sounds almost like a mini woodpecker. The sound can be heard on and off, but usually when it is cold and when the car has just been started. Several dealers have tried to correct it, but none have been able to find the source and eliminate the sound. Any ideas ... Read More

I'm looking at 2003 QX4 in southern California. Has anyone purchased one lately? what did you have to pay for one with all the options and leather? I know their discounted but I'm not sure how much they are willing to give and dont want to make them angry from the getgo?? One more important question for any owners of the 2002 or 2003 Qx4's. It has a realitivly narrow wheel ... Read More

  • QX4 Roof Rack Rubber Insert & Interior Temperature

I have just bought an used 2002 QX4 and am very happy with it. I love the heated seats in particular as they really heat up quick and comfortable. There are two things which I hope someone here in this Board can help me out. Thanks.     1) I notice that one piece of a rubber insert at the        driver side adjacent to the sunroof in the        roof rack is missing. I'm ... Read More

In the process of getting an SUV for my wife. Stopped by Infiniti yesterday and they are discounting the QX4 a great deal. Saw a 2002 brand new loaded with everything except nav. Even had a DVD system. $32,200. Is this a great deal??? Only problem is that they also had an FX35 for $39,100. I know this is a jump in price but the QX4 sure did look like the ... Read More

I have a 2002 QX4 Black on Black with everything minus the Nav. I love my Infiniti and the great care shown to customers by the dealership. I have been sad to near that the current model is done. No more are coming off the production line but Nissan/Infiniti would not let it end. Just in the past couple of days Nissan site has posted renderings of the new Pathfinder Armada. ... Read More

  • QX4 Discontinued

The FX45 has been a discussion item for some time and the expected replacement for the QX4. Personally, I thought 2002 was going to be the last for the QX4. Buying the last year of a model may be disconcerting but remember that mechanically, the QX4 is a Pathfinder and I don't believe the Pathfinder will be going away. Besides, I would have no concerns buying a Nissan/Infiniti in any year. ... Read More

  • Child Safety Latch System

I have a 2002 Black QX4. I love the car, great price, ride and dealer experience. My question is does anyone know if Infiniti sells extender straps for using the "Latch" system to secure a rear facing child's car seat? The child seat works great but the Latch system makes it a no brainer to secure and remove if needed. Thanks

I just brought a 2002 4WD recently and enjoy the vehicle quite a lot. I had a 4.4 X5 before it was stolen, so my comparison may seem a bit harsh. The QX4 doesn't ride as well as the X5, you will especially feel the higher center of gravity. The brakes while adequate doesn't give me much confidence, this may have to do with the tires which rides a bit rough. ... Read More

You can buy pet barriers at petsmart for a lot cheaper than the one infiniti is selling. I got one for a 96 Mountaineer. Like gregfocker said, it is a generic and is adjustable to fit many different sized rear area suv's. My dog got where she did not try to jump over anymore, so I have not used mine in a while. I agree with greg that it is ok ... Read More

I think Crete may have put me over the edge. I just talked to the Infiniti dealer who will put me in a new 2002 QX4 fully loaded except for Nav system for $33,500. I assume I can get a loaded Path for $30,500. I did speak to a friend of a friend who was an Infiniti mechanic and now sells LandRovers. He told me that the QX4 does have more ... Read More

Well, I got a call from an Infiniti dealer I went to awhile back, he said they just got in QX4's and are discounting them substantially. I just purchased a 2002 QX4 in the SE for $31,000 plus $399 doc and T,T,L. Also got the 0.9 financing ( just love $270 in finance charges). In april there was a $2000 factory to dealer incentive on QX4. Basically got the vehicle at invoice cost of QX4 (no ad or floor plan fees) minus the $2000 incentive. Dealer kept the $900 holdback. I have owned my 2002 Black on Black QX4 for less than a month. The purchase experience with the dealer was a straightforward, professional and courteous experience. It is without a doubt a great Luxury SUV but with muscle. All I can do is rave about my QX4. Previous experience with Nissan products I don't expect anything else. The difference in customer relations between Infiniti dealers and Nissan dealers is shocking. ... Read More

  • Factory to Dealer Incentives

Did you check this site for incentives? See: http://www.edmunds.com/new/2002/infiniti/qx4/2wd4drsuv35l6cyl4a/prices.html#incentives For my ZIP code (85308) they indicate a $2000 incentive. When I bought my 2001 QX4 last year, it was relatively easy to get the dealer down to a sales price of invoice price less the full dealer incentive, which was $1000 at that time. Hold out for invoice less dealer incentive! You may need to walk out on the deal once ... Read More

Hey all, looks like Infiniti finally has some pictures available of the 2002 QX4. Go to www.infinitinews.com and click on the products link on the right hand side under Infiniti. Nice looking interior. Helped me decide I'll try to deal on a 2001 rather than pay invoice + $900-$1000 on a 2002. I've also used one of those Radio Data Systems offered on the 2002, and they're pretty cool, provided most ... Read More

Nissan will be producing a full-size SUV for MY2003, so since Infiniti simply copies the Nissan design, don't expect a larger QX4 before MY2003 (fall of 2002).

The 2001 Pathfinder has been around for a few months now, and does not have the Navigation system nor any "entertainment system". The Canadian version does have the QX4's AWD system, I believe the U.S. version will have this in the fall (or perhaps not until the 2002 model?). If and when the Pathfinder gets these enhancements, what will this do to it's pricing? I can't believe that the Pathfinder would ... Read More
