My 2003 Q45 makes a loud droning noise caused by some kind of vibration between 1,800 and 2,100 rpm, and has the same sound in any of the five gears, so it is not road speed related. I got a chance to drive an Infiniti Q45 yesterday with the sports package. I was a little hesitant -- I'm used to the soft ride on my 2000 Deville, and thought the Q45 would ride harshly on our poorly maintained highways. If Motor Trend - the publication that usually has the lowest 0-60 times among all car magazines - cannot produce 0-60 in 5.9 sec., then I would also think it's a little fishy. I don't know. Based on my experience with a '90 Q45, and to some extent posts in this forum - RUN AWAY! Our Q was bought used in '95 with 39k miles, totally examined by the local Infiniti dealer, all problems fixed. It caused us no end of trouble - mostly, but not exclusively, electrical in nature.
