  It could be very bad news, unfortunately. You need to read about the chain guide issue: http://www.q45.org/techhelp.html Read everything under " Chain Guides (CRITICAL for 1990-1993):" Sorry. See if you can get juice directly to the starter, or manually turn the engine.

  My 2003 Q45 makes a loud droning noise caused by some kind of vibration between 1,800 and 2,100 rpm, and has the same sound in any of the five gears, so it is not road speed related. My dealer has replaced the Y-pipe and catalytic converters, as well as adjusting and tightening the exhaust heat shields numerous times.   I am a first time driver and own a 1993 Infiniti Q45. Gas now is 2.99 and going up as we all know!!!! What can we do to save gas except for not driving alot. Can we pull out the seats and get out stuff from the car that can decrease the weight in the car? Is there something you can buy to increase your miles per gallon? Please help, Thanks. ... Read More

  Just wanted to know if you found your problem? I had the same symptoms and replaced the Air Flow Switch to no avail. Still stalls out at 3-4K. The code box under the right hand kick panel points to several parts, but a man can go broke replacing each one until the problem is solved. If you need to change spark plugs be ready for a job.

  I drove a 93 for awhile several years back. My old boss owned the car and I drove it for weeks at a time. He sold it with 35K miles and said the car was maintence free.
