I am curious of the Posters from 2008 who were contemplating getting the 2009 M {the X version came with the 5 AT}, how they like the 7 AT. I have a 2010 G37X with the 7AT. I find that it lumbers in a high gear - way too frequently and easily particularly on local suburban road (25-40 MPH); Lags on the downshift and it is very evident when Braking then ... Read More
I just finish reading about the new 2009 infiniti G37, and it is going to be faster than the M45 if they don't add some more HP. The 09 G will have a 3.7L 328HP engine with a 7 Speed auto with sport mode. Now if the M45 stays the same it will only put out the same 325HP and 5 speed auto, which is only a 3HP difference but would ... Read More
Well of all the cars - it was the M deals that got better from Infiniti. 2009 M35 - closed out - Infiniti has given the dealers $5000 and told them good luck 2009 M45 - closed out - same as above, but it was $6000 2010 M35: $7000 (wow) or $2000 + special rates 2010 M45: $8000 or $2000 + special rates (almost impossible to find this car) You can ... The incentives on the M line did not change from last month. If you can find a 2009: Special rates + $1000 or $6000 dealer cash ($7k on M45). 2010 M35: Special Rates or $4000 2010 M45: Special Rates or $5000 (very rare - super limited production) Still a $2000 lease Loyalty rebate - must lease and must own an Infiniti. Hope this helps. :)
Infiniti just announced today an additional $1000 Bonus Cash on all M's (M35 or M45 - 2009 or 2010). You can use this money with special rates or lease! Here is the breakdown: 09 M: $2000 + special rates or $7000 ($8000 on M45) or $4250 on lease (plus $2000 loyalty rebate if you own an Infiniti) 10 M: $1000 + special rates or $5000 ($6000 on M45) or $1000 on ... 2009 - IF (and that is a big if) you can find a 2009 M35/45, Infiniti has thrown another $1000 at them. The special rates stayed the same. This additional $1000 - you CAN use with the rates or existing dealer cash. Bottom line is you should be able to get about $9k off any M without much fuss. Hope this helps. PS Still have tax credits on leases (in Texas). ... Read More
Auto lock/unlock on M35/M45 is NEVER offered by Infiniti - Not with ANY package or any option. None, never, ever from 2006 through 2009. So, don't bother about it - unless you go with after market. Yes, I know this for sure, 100%, 1000% sure.

For 2009 both M35 and M35x got the 3.5L from G35 (303hp / 268 lb-ft) but only M35 got the 7-speed AT which boosted fuel economy by a little. M45 got no improvements in that category at all. M35 still has a less powerful engine than what is now in the G37 (328hp / 269 lb-ft).
Thanks for the suggestion Lexusguy. The Jag and especially the Audi have much better fuel economy numbers than M45 certainly in part due to the extra gear. Interestingly the Infiniti dealer did not have a 2009 M35 (with the new engine and 7-speed transmission) that he could find for me to test drive to compare with the M45. They had lots of 2008 models though.
From what I am hearing they are going to be making a new M for the 2010 year model which will be a M37 and M50 the M37 will replace the M35 but it will have the same engine as the G37 and 7 speed transmission. The M50 will replace the M45 and have the engine from the 2009 FX50 which is a 5.0L 390Hp 369LBs ft. torque but it maybe ... Read More
They come out 2 days before christmas or 2 days after. I went to the infiniti 2009 infiniti model lineup on youtube and they were talking about them then. They also added the automatic door locking system to lock the doors when you take off driving. They didn't ... Read More
Good question, I don't think they changed the gearing. More than likely they just changed the heads, cam, etc. on the car and air flow to make it faster but I doubt they touched the gears. I wish they were made like the camaro's and trans am from 86-89 with TPI throttle body. I could set my transmission gear for higher revs at 70 MPH or lower revs. Does anyone have ... Read More
The major change for 2009 Infiniti M comes for the M35 and M35x with the replacement of the previous 275-hp V6 with the 303-hp 3.5-liter V6 that was introduced in the second-generation G35 sedan. A new seven-speed automatic transmission and Drive Sport mode is available, along with auto speed-sensing door locks and Scratch Shield paint (self-healing clearcoat paint finish). Hey big D. I drive a 2006 M35X with 26.5 miles. Need the awd in New England. Like it a lot but wish it had a 6th and/or 7th gear because at 70 mpg the rpms are close to 3000. I would like to start a rumor! If I were Nissan/Infiniti looking at sales of M's, gas prices and such....I would not bring out a 2009 model at all. I would bring out the 2010 M37/M50 with 7 speed in Jan/Feb 2009....and I would continue to focus on G35/EX 4wd sales. You seem to think I am quibbling about the cost of filling the gas tank. I am talking about engineering a better car. Actually I'm not trying to be disagreeable. No, I respect your opinion totally. And I also agree that they should make a better car as far as transmssion and gas mileage wise. You seem to think I am quibbling about the cost of filling the gas tank. I am talking about engineering a better car. Nissan has a 7 speed auto and a CVT, both of which would provide better economy and performance for the M, but they are determined to stick with the 5 speed. I guess to save a few bucks on a $55,000 car.
Way better? I do most of my driving on the highway, so 14% highway mileage is way better. Comparing Infiniti M45 to GS460 (15k/yr, 90% Highway, $4.00/gallon) Infiniti M45 Annual Cost for fuel - $2,857 Lexus GS460 Annual Cost for fuel - $2,609 $148 dollars per year on a $55,000 car. Again I ask, way better?
I have a 2006 M35X and my lease is up in Aug. Just spoke with a sales guy at Infiniti (Circle in NJ). According to him, no signicant changes to the M35 in 2009. I don't know what your actual mileage is, but 16/23 is the EPA's number. (http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/findacar.htm)
Those numbers sound more like what it should be. Also people have to take into consideration how others drive, some people have a heavier foot than others, and then when you stay in a city where there is a stop light every 1/4 mile it kills the gas mileage even more.
The M35 is rated at 18-25 mpg and that's what I'm getting with mine.
EPA Ratings Lexus LS460 - 16 city 24 highway Infiniti M45 - 16 city 21 highway Infiniti M35 - 16 city 23 highway Way better? I do most of my driving on the highway, so 14% highway mileage is way better.
Yeah I have been saying they need to upgrade there transmission that would help and with the horsepower it puts out it will make it get way better gas mileage than the lexus V-8. I'm still waiting to see if they are going to throw the new 7 speed transmission from the 2009 fx50 into the M45 and maybe the new 5.0L engine to that is producing 390HP.
Lexus V8 gets way better mileage than Infiniti V8 EPA Ratings Lexus GS460 - 16 city 23 highway Infiniti M45 - 16 city 21 highway Way better?
Lexus V8 gets way better mileage than Infiniti V8. It even gets better mileage than the Infiniti V6. Could it be the Lexus 8 speed auto, compared to Infiniti's lame 5 speed? The M desperately needs a new transmission.
Ok wish you the best. God bless
Thanks very much for your response. Living in Northeast Ohio weather, I plan to get the AWD. If I hear anything, I'll also pass it on.
Well you have pick the right car but getting the all-wheel drive will kill your gas mileage. I suggest that if you don't really need the all-wheel drive don't buy it. But when my salesman called me the other day about when I was going to buy my M45 I told him I was going ... Read More

I'll have to respectully disagree with the previous post, particularly regarding the audio quality of the premium sound (14 speaker) system. I find it mediocre, at best.
