I am curious of the Posters from 2008 who were contemplating getting the 2009 M {the X version came with the 5 AT}, how they like the 7 AT. I have a 2010 G37X with the 7AT. I find that it lumbers in a high gear - way too frequently and easily particularly on local suburban road (25-40 MPH); Lags on the downshift and it is very evident when Braking then ... Read More
I've got the RSA's on my 2010 Maxima and I'm with you these tires are typical OEM tires, mediocre at best and poor usually in all things! I only have 5k miles on them and I can't wait till they wear out so I can put better tires on them! they are the loudest, most noisiest tires I have ever had on a car; the road and tire thum echo's through ... Hi, I am looking for 2007 M35/M45, but I read in 2008 Infiniti switched from DVD Nav. System to HD Nav. System. Does anyone know is the HD Navigation is a big improvement over the DVD system? Is it worthwhile to pay more for 2008 models to get the HD nav. system (I didn't see any other improvements in 2008 except lane departure improvements, which does not seem important). Thanks.
Recently returned my 2006 M45 sport off lease. It was flawless, one of the best of 10 Infinitis Ive leased/owned since giving1993. Retired now and dont need three cars so didnt replace it but miss it a lot... 2008 QX and G37 coupe are nice for their purpose but miss the M45 on long trips when storage isnt needed. Hope the new one is slightly larger, truck and back seat wise ... Read More
"From what I read a few weeks ago about it, the president from infiniti division said that the M45 can't have less horsepower than the fx50. The gas mileage might still suck because it didn't change much on the 2009 fx50. " The 2008 FX45 was rated at 13 \ 17. The 2009 FX50 was rated at 14 \ 20. My second Infiniti will be my last! Traded my 2006 G for the 2008 M35 sport, what a huge disappointment. My G never saw the service dept. other then for an oil change/tire rotation..drove and handled like a CHAMP. My "M" 3rd day was back for a wheel alignment after a rutted road jerked the steering wheel out of my hands. Had service manager drive with me and he never felt ... Read More
I think I'm going to forget the base models and shell out for one with nav and a few other options. The price premium for the extras in the used models is closer to 2K than 5-6K and thus probably worth it. I mean the nav in these vehicles can't be that lousy, right? Any thoughts on how much more to pay for, say 25K miles vs 40K miles? I'm trying ... Read More
2008 M45X ,CPO, Tech,Adv Tech and premium package.Window sticker of 65,000.12,000 miles but it looks new and smells new.I now look forward to my 38 mile drive to work.I have always looked forward to work but not the drive. It sure has a lot of toys and faster than my 1968 Cougar ,390 HO with 4 speed.Good luck!
Hey mltsurger, Can you please laborate on your used 2008 loaded Infiniti M45 to this thread of $ MSRP-price? price-off? OTD-price? Infiniti interest-rate? model: RWD or AWD? used-miles? Edmunds over values the M.Kelly and CR slightly under value.I just bought a used 2008 loaded M45 by calling around to used car managers of Infinity dealers.I then related the price that I wanted to pay before making the drive.Three of them sold before I got there, but the one I really wanted I was able to buy.It is like new but 24K less than MSRP.Good luck!
Thanks for the suggestion Lexusguy. The Jag and especially the Audi have much better fuel economy numbers than M45 certainly in part due to the extra gear. Interestingly the Infiniti dealer did not have a 2009 M35 (with the new engine and 7-speed transmission) that he could find for me to test drive to compare with the M45. They had lots of 2008 models though.
If I were you, I won't even bother negotiating, since Infiniti financing will not give you a price near as low (compare the market). Ture, they will lose money even you returen the car and they sell it off of an auction - unless your car is in top condition and they will re-sell it as CPO car at the dealership. It makes sense to just return the car and look ... Read More
I am starting to look for new tires on my M45S. Anyone tried anything other than the factory tires that they really like? I have the Bridgestone Potenza RE050A on there now.
This is exactly what I have found and is along with the sticker price, the gas guzzler tax of 1,300.Again.What are thoughts about a 45X 2008,used by Infinity Rep.(OR SO THEY SAY).12,000 Miles,Tech,Adv. Tech,Prem pack with 19 in wheels at 44,500 with MSRP of 67,000.Thanks
My fiancee' and I also purchased a brand new left-over 2007 Pearl White M45 Sport from the same dealer. With the negotiated price of $34998.00 and our trade in, we paid $30,009.00 (after taxes and miscellaneous add-ons). The sticker was for $55,000+. It has the stone color interior. I could not believe the deal. I agree with you regarding the snow handling of this vehicle, but if the snow we have ... Read More

The original equipment was Bridgestone as I recall. Now I have a Michelin tire on it and it is very quiet. I am a long term Infiniti owner and fan, most of my cars have been Q45's but this M45 sport is my fav. Just back from a 3000 mile trip and man it runs, handles and is comfortable. This car has been flawless with 50k miles on it nothing, not ... Read More

What would be a good net cash price to buy a 2008 M45 2WD with zero options? I'm not a current Infiniti owner. Can I expect to pay about $1000 to $2000 below invoice price including the rebate? Well you have pick the right car but getting the all-wheel drive will kill your gas mileage. I suggest that if you don't really need the all-wheel drive don't buy it. The FX series has been upgraded for 2009, with both a larger & more powerful V8 and a 7 speed automatic trans. Any comments on the 2008 M45x Sport, especially from M45, M45 Sport, M35x and M35 Sport owners?
From your experience, would any of you Infiniti M45 owners go for a 2008 M45x sport? All wheel drive and sport package will be offered for MY 2008. Very interesting, I'm surprised that Infiniti is making major changes to the M so quickly. The M45x will definitely be on my "must test drive" list.

however, they have heard the complaints about higway noise and poor fuel economy since the new M was introduced three years ago and have done nothing..... I had been considering the M35x as a replacement for my '06 330Xi (wanted more room and a smoother ride). From what I had read, there were things I liked about the M35x (handling / performance, looks, value, room), but also some aspects that were causing me to hesitate, primarily highway engine revs, supposedly a little rougher ride than a 5 series, and slighly noisier cabin. Before I got around to ... Read More

If we have had some skepticism about how well CR and JDP predict reliability in a meaningful way (much less predict overall ownership and driving satisfaction), we are on even thinner ice when it comes to cars in the 75K to 125K chapters of their lives. I think M sales will drop a bit, but not "like a rock". It should be able to meet its annual sales goal of 24,000 units per year, even during its 3rd and 4th years. I don't know if this has already been asked, but I'm blurry-eyed reading through all of the posts... I'm considering the M45 Premium, but noticed something I didn't like AT ALL about the rear controls. I somehow think M35 AWD would be the hot seller as you can drive it to any other States without worry about any whether. I think it would be wise for Infiniti to cancel G35 since M35 Sport and M35 AWD could fill G35's spot and cancel Q45 since you have M45 Sport to take its place. Then in 2007, you have Infiniti GT-R, that is like NSX in Acura ... Read More
