Traded in a '11 QX56 for the JX35 AWD. It is the wife's new soccer mom mobile! Hopefull, the MPG will be better than the QX!
The JX35 came with Premium pkg, Theater pkg, Deluxe Touring pkg, Tow pkg, and Roof Rails. We really like the java interior with maple interior accents; the 20" wheels look nice too. The interior is very plush and roomy. It looks and feels high end. The second row moves about 5 inches fwd/aft, which is a great feature-more leg room. Unlike most of the SUVs in this class, the third row is useful. A 6 ft. adult can sit back there comfortably. Infact, it's just as comfortable as the 3rd row seat on the QX56. Getting in/out of the 3rd row is a breeze.
Bose Cabin Surround sound system-sounds better than the std. Bose. Useful 3rd row seat and ease of access. Roomy interior and lots of high tech toys. Elegant interior and comfortable seating for 7. Smooth silky ride and smooth CVT transmission. Ample power for a V6; nice growl like my old G35! Ability to watch movies using a USB. Handles/corners well for a CUV, regardless of what Car & Driver and other professional reviewers say :-). You just don't see lot of mommies out there cornering like formula 1 drivers! We'll see how the adaptive AWD handles in the snow. Tight turn radius. Overall, an excellent choice for those who want a luxury true 7 passenger SUV over driving a minivan.
The exterior disign. First off, the wife likes it! Perhaps that is why Infiniti is targeting middle aged women for the JX35. Me.....yes and no. The sloping top rear end looks like the Mercedes R-class. It would look nicer if it were squared off a little more. The plastic rear end (unpainted portion) should be painted and the tow bar should be covered, like the QX. The plastic guard along the sides are cheesey. Should come standard with splash guards. The roof rails are absolutely useless! Where do I buy the crossbars for this thing? Infiniti will probably charge me an arm and a leg for them!
