Please help. While driving my 2002 I35 there was a brief smell like electrical insulation burning. Shortly afterwards I noted that my fuel gauge was stuck on zero. I spoke to my mechanic who told me it is unsafe to drive and a fire hazard because it might be the fuel sender wiring. Fred, The 2000 G20 is driven about 90% by my wife, and only about 7000 miles per year. In my opinion, the 4 cylinder 145 HP engine in completely adequate for this car (we have automatic). When I do drive it, I am amazed at how effortless it is to accelerate to desired speeds, highway or city. It is extremely quiet even cruising at 85 MPH. Great Bose sound system. We ... Read More

  • Anyone want an extra tire?

Written by: alfaber on Jan 16, 2002 8:42:44 PM

Hi All, Just looked at this board, and saw the complaints about the odd tire size. I have a brand new Bridgestone Turanza EL42 in size 215/55R17. This came as a full-sized spare on my new I35, but I have taken it off and replaced it with a slightly smaller 215/50 X17 from Tire Rack. I did this to get back the extra 5 inches of trunk space that the full-sized ... Read More

Congrats on getting the low mileage '98 I30t for $17650. Based on personal experience with the following 6 Nissans/Infinitis since 1991, I would recommend you not spend the $1000-$1100 for an extended warranty. My total non-routine maintenance out-of-warranty expenses: 1991 Maxima GXE (65K): 0 1993 Infiniti G20 (70K): $400 fuel injector 1996 Maxima GLE (70K): 0 2000 Infiniti I30 (31K): 0 2000 Infiniti G20 (8K): 0 (wife's current car) 2002 Infiniti ... I totally agreed with cpa4u. The price is kind of high for a I30 with 14K miles at $26,600. Well, unless it is a "T" model, otherwise you can buy a new "L" model at this price. While there is no more 2002 I30, I35 is quite a great car from the preview. From the 260 hp engine and the new front design. However, the I35 will come around October, and ... Read More

  • Satellite Radio for 2002 Infiniti?

    Written by: peter7777 on May 30, 2001 7:36:54 PM

I've read a lot about the Sirius and XM satellite radios that are going to be offered this fall. Will the Infiniti I30 or I35 have either radio as optional equipment? I noticed that both Sirius and XM will sell adapters for existing radios. Would the steering wheel radio controls on the I30 function to change channels on the satellite band as they do on the AM and FM bands?

If you are waiting for the redesign on the ES300. Why not wait until the release of I35? The I35 will be available around October with 260hp, standard Xeon headlights, etc. But the I30 now is a good buy, Infiniti is having a factory to dealer incentive $1000. So, you pretty much can buy the car below invoice. I wouldn't say about I35. BMW 325i is too small, driving experience is ... Read More

I test drove an I30 last weekend and asked the dealer about the new I35. He said it would cost close to $40k! I think he was blowing mud. There is no way they can justify a $10k increase because of a 33hp boost and a few other little extras. I plan to buy an I30 late june to early July so I hope Infiniti starts to dicount the I30s soon... ... Read More

Hello to all. I'm new to this BB, but I've been reading it for months. I'm considering buying a new I30, and have learned a lot from all of your experiences. Thanks for all the 'good stuff'. I'm interested in the 2002 I35, but I would jump on a 2001 I30L if a really good deal. Yesterday's CARSDIRECT.com price was $27,392 for the I30L w/heated seats and dest. Sound good? Does ... Does anyone have an idea about what incentives Infiniti might give in order to move the current I30s? I'll be ready to buy a new vehicle early July and I’m hoping that Infiniti will lower MSRP by at least $2k... wishful thinking? I really want a 2002 I35 but I might have to settle for a 2001 I30 because I need a larger vehicle before our first born comes out the ... Read More

Pricing, we don't know yet. Acura will continue at least through 2002 to offer the TL as both base and S versions. All 2002 Infiniti I35's will be just that I35's their will be no 2002 I30.

Good question. Nobody has said the I30 is going away. Is the Acura 3.2TL going away because they came out with the 3.2TL-S? Infiniti may do away with the I30T and make the I35 the hot sport model. How important is the extra horsepower? It didn't make that much difference to me. How much do you think they will discount a 2001 I30 once the I35 comes out? I don't think ... Read More
