My 2001 I30 has had 4 remanufactured alternators supplied by Nissan/Infiniti installed since May and a new starter. After leaving the car sit for 3-4 days it won't start w/o a jump. What else could possibly be wrong here?

Used my electronic hood latch to open trunk to put jumper cables back, and the engine died immediately. After another 20 minutes of trying, was able to jump start again. Again, it started right up. Mud guards 2001
Written by: mvargo1 on May 15, 2001 10:35:51 AM
Yes mud guards are listed as an option on the sticker for a 2001 I30. However in the northeast every single 2001 I30 ordered with Heated Seats and traction control comes with the 6-disc CD and mud guards. It does not matter if the dealer wanted them or not. Trust me Infiniti will not let us order a heat and trac I30 without throwing in mudguards and a CD.

I30 Wind Noise Remedy

It seems that some 2000-2001 I30 owners have wind noise while others do not. A few minor quibbles on my 2001 I30
Written by: royalruby1 on Oct 1, 2000 3:09:23 AM
I've had my 2001 I30L for 3 weeks now and simply love it. One minor thing that I just discovered today is the front seat belts. When you click out of your seat belt and it goes flying back into its little side holder, it often slams into the side moldings and scuffs it up. The top cloth part gets hit, and the bottom plastic part even more so. I have ... Read More

No i dont live in the Spaulding lakes area...but they do have some really nice homes there! Anyway, I have owned the following: 1992 Mitsubishi Diamante, 1997 Infiniti I30t, 2000 Acura 3.2 TL, 2001 Acura 3.2CL-S. All great cars...Diamante was the best car I've owned/driven (I think I was lucky to have a car with low defects...must have been a "Monday" or "Tuesday" car). Interior/exterior styling was great, and it was ... Read More

Infiniti I30 Luxury - Options
Written by: john60 on Sep 28, 2000 4:01:43 AM
I'm still trying to buy a 2001 I30 Luxury but was told today that the Xenon Light option, which was new for 2001, has been suspended and is not available. Previously, I was told that the Traction Control option was only available if you also bought the Navigation option and the Heated Seats option (I knew about the Heated Seats option as it's on all the web sites). I'm having trouble ... Read More

Infiniti I30 Luxury Option Availability
Written by: john60 on Sep 18, 2000 10:49:34 PM
I'm in the process of ordering a 2001 I30 Luxury. The options I want on the car consist of Xenon Headlights, Traction Control, and Mud Guards. Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book list these as options except that a Heated Seats option is required for the Traction Control. I hardly need heated seats in San Diego but had accepted this requirement even though the invoice price is $374. Now, my problem is ... Read More

I just bought a 2001 I30t (with sports pack. and CD changer) from Tustin Infinity (80 mi from SD). First I got a quote from their internet fleet manager Al Desko. He emailed me a very good offer (less than any internet dealer you can find). I tried to call 3 other south cal infiniti dealers and it's not even close. I went in Sat. and met my sales Pat Carter ... Read More

I30 Long term reliability
Written by: krishna__j on Sep 14, 2000 9:48:51 PM
I am considering buying a 2001 I30 or an 2001 Acura TL and am leaning toward the I30 as memory seats and interior size are important to me. However, I am a little concerned about the long term reliability of the I30. I intend to keep this car for 7-8 years and put perhaps 150,000 or more miles on it. I know of several people who have had Acuras (especially legends) ... Read More

My new 2001 i30
Written by: royalruby1 on Sep 10, 2000 8:17:31 PM
I just bought it last thursday, 9/7/2000, and I love it. It's the new Royal Ruby Red color with the graphite interior, Luxury model--simply gorgeous. It has the Xenon lights, which are awesome. I've researched this car for 3 weeks now and have contacted 7 dealers in the Northern California/Bay Area. Over 3 hours at the dealer and some intense negotiating, I think I got a great deal at $28,485 +T&L. ... Read More

California I30L

Just hit 1000 miles on my 2001 I30. I really like this car but would absolutely love it if it was as quiet at 80mph as my 92 Diamante that I turned in. Would changing from Goodyear to Michelin tires reduce road noise? Company's can sign up for Nissan/Infiniti Vehicle Purchase Program to offer an employee benefit. Got car for Invoice -3.8% (holdback) +2.5%. That's it.

My wife and I just bought a 2001 Infiniti I30 at Northside Infiniti in Houston. The entire process was a delight. Drive out was $28000+TT&L and this car is loaded. Would have paid about $1000 less for Acura, without Sun roof, and it would have been a 2000 model. The staff at Northside were great. The Acura folks were an embarrassment. If you're looking for a great luxury car that should ... Read More
