O2 sensors
Just bought this 2000 i30 with 36,000 miles. Check engine light came on with P0160 & P0140 codes. Both codes indicate Bank 2, Sensor 2. Infinity dealer found a Service bulletin indicating to replace both banks with new parts. they indicated that these were a replacement design from the original part. I have a 2000 I30t and had 2 o2 sensors replaced and it was only about 200 each? But realize there are 4 of them. When my check engine light came on I simply went to autozone and they provided the problem. I live in Florida so we have no state inspections. My car has 170k and it is still running strong! I hope it lasts for infinity :)

I'm having that problem and when it doesn't turn I push the key in and jiggle it around a bit and then it turns on. Sometimes I have to do it a couple of times. Did you buy the ignition switch and install it yourself? That's what I need to do. At the same time one of my belts went berserk after it got really cold here. Even my co-workers don't ... Read More

Just to eliminate brake squeak, I suggest to replace stock brake pads with Ceramic brake pads. The pads come with the car is Semi metallic ones. Their dust really make squeaking noise. Dealers do not carry ceramic pads. You can have them at brake shops like Sears. Hey there, When you say that you replaced the computer, do you mean the ECM? I think my ECM circuit board has damage from a faulty Idle air control valve, and I was wondering how you handled changing out the computer. Is is super expensive? Have this vehicle with 148K miles. Saturday, idling at a traffic light and when it turns green, hit the gas pedal, but go nowhere. The problem that my car had was the "mass air flow sensor", I got it fixed at the Infiniti dealership which cost approximately $400.00. Luckily I only had to pay $100, the dealershp where I bought the car took care of the rest!!

My 2000 I30 is rusting on the trunk lid above the chrome plate and at the front of the hood, around the chrome grill. Fred, The 2000 G20 is driven about 90% by my wife, and only about 7000 miles per year. In my opinion, the 4 cylinder 145 HP engine in completely adequate for this car (we have automatic). I understand Infiniti of Lisle (Chicago) are paying $18,250 which means you could probably buy one for around $19-$20K depending how good you negotiate. Of course the new I35 will be a few thousand dollars more. You'll be getting more horsepower and slightly different trim on the same body/chassis, plus some other minor enhancements. I had a similar experience with Ford Motorcraft batteries. Just make it past the warranty. The maintenance free batteries either last forever or die young. Reguarding wind noise and reliability
Having sold many 2000/2001 I30's since their introduction in 1999 I have yet to have a single customer complain about wind noise. Reliability wise not only is the I30 just as good but with a timing chain instead of a timing belt it may even be more reliable than the toyota V6. There is currently a $1,000 owner loyalty bonus for former current Infiniti owners/lessors who are buying an I30/QX4/Q45.

I called to schedule my 7,500 mile service which includes oil/filter change, topping off of fluids and tire rotation. To my dismay, the charge for this service is $135.00!!!! Most service shops charge between $46 to $60 for this service. How can Infiniti justify charging $135 for this service??

I just purchased a 2000 I30 and the dealer's bill (pre-printed) included "Messenger Fee - $55 and Clerical Fee - $95" Total $150. I objected to no avail and was told all Infiniti dealers charge this. Is this true. Please advise. I intend to write to Infiniti and complain.
