Great car

I've had my I30 for about 1 1/2 years and have driven it pretty hard. I haven't had any problems with it other than the drivers side airbag seems to have a faulty connection in it so the airbag light blinks. Everything else works great. For a car with 113k miles, it has been well worth the money.

They could have done better at locating the fuel door button. Same with the cruise control 'On' button (it is hidden behind the turning signal).

I bought my 1998 Infiniti I30 used in 2000. It had 25,000 miles on it. It now has 71,000 miles. Overall, it has been a very reliable car. It has had a few problems (recall on power steering hose and alternator) and the battery exploded! However, a new one was installed and there was no damage to the electrical system.
Favorite Features
The heated front seats and automatic dimming rearview mirror are great. I also like the ability to lower the front windows with the remote control for the doors and trunk.
Suggested Improvements
Better road noise suppression! I've owned another Nissan car, and it too had too much road noise. The Toyota Camry is quieter. Also, the headlights must be manually turned on and off. Again, the Toyota Camry has automatic headlights.

Just bought and glad I did

Review
I just bought this used at the local Mazda dealer. It was a one owner trade- in. The dealer had it on their lot for about 4 months, and finally discounted it to get rid of it. This could be the best used car I have every gotten. Great performance, great ride, love the looks and the 5-speed. First week I owned it I took to business trips that totalled over 1,000 miles. Got 27.75 mpg, and about smiled allthe way to the bank. The Saturday before I found this one I almost bought a new i35. They are making terrific deals on the 2003 models, but I got this car for about 1/3 of the new one. The car is as tight as a new one. A little less HP and I saved $20,000.
Favorite Features
Fun to drive, looks, tight construction.
Suggested Improvements
A fold down rear seat.
Needs telescopic steering

Great car. Handles well for a sedan. Lots of room, well built, looks good in and out. Major problem if you're tall- no telescopic steering wheel. You'll have to choose between the comfort of your legs or arms- because the only way to get the steering wheel closer to you is to scoot the seat forward. I guess the Nissan guys figured tall people have really long arms. Also it would be nice if the standard tranny were more readily available.
Favorite Features
Engine. Its really smooth. Electronic temperature control is neat. Bose stereo is very good.
Suggested Improvements
See above re: no telescopic steering. No trip computer in this car. My old car, '89 BMW 325i had a trip computer. You'd think a luxury car 9 years older would have one. Not necessary, just fun to play around with.

Good, Reliable Car

Review
I bought this car used at a local dealership. I drive 40,000 to 45,000 business miles a year. I service the car regularly. Currently there is 125,000 miles on it. I have replaced the brakes and put new tires on it. Nothing else has needed repaired or replaced. I get 29 mpg highway, and 20 city. The ONLY thing that has not always worked properly is the power antenna. (it does not fully extend) It doesn't seem to effect the reception. I plan to drive another 50,000 then get another. It is not the best car in it's class, but it has to be one of the best values you can get. My wife loves her Acura and wouldn't drive anything else. The same goes for me with the I-30.
Favorite Features
Bose system, mileage, low maintenance!

Review
I bought this car on 2000 when it was 2 years leased and 15k Miles on it. I did not have the intension of buying a luxury car at all because of the expensive maintenance cost. I bought this car because I got a better deal compared to other non-luxury cars. Then I found that this car has lot of luxury features for less cost. I put 60k on it and no problem till today, less maintenance cost. The acceleration is powerful enough to pass any vehicle easily. The car is spacious with ergonomic leather seating. Bose audio is awesome. I enjoy driving this car all the time.

Acceleration, Bose audio, ergonomic seating, spacious, interior look, Luxuary in Low prise.

Best Car I have ever owned!

Review
I have 88,000 miles on my 1998 I30. I purchased the car new and have had no major and very few minor problems. The service the Infiniti dealerships give is excellent. When the car ws fairly new the brakes shuddered a bit and the dealer replaced the rotors and p0ads at no charge. I have had to replace the airbag twice but the warranty covered one of them. The engine is the best, most dependable engine I have ever experienced. It still drives like the day I purchased the car.
Favorite Features
Excellent engine performance, mileage, and quietness. Great Bose stereo, great climate control, good seats, classic styling (not over the top like a Pontiac)
Suggested Improvements
A trip computer would be great but the new ones have that. Better position of the cruise control on/off button.
