Summary

What Edmunds.com says

If upscale features are more important to you than tight handling and a mainstream name, the XG350 is worth a look. However, most buyers would be better served by a well-optioned Accord or Camry.

Pros

Classy interior materials, long list of standard features, low price, excellent warranty.

Cons

Flaccid handling, easily confused automatic transmission, conservative styling, no side curtain airbags.

What's New for 2005

The XG350L receives a standard eight-disc CD changer.

Review

I just bought a xg350L, 2005. Yes I bought it used, when I first went and took it for a test drive it acted like it was missing. Eventually the check engine light came on, the dealer had it taken into their shop, ran the computer on it. filled it with premium gas and the problem stopped. no more surging... so that means this car wont run with ordinary gas, it needs plus or premium... no problem there. we have driven it for 520 miles now, excellent ride, comfort and dependable. I love this car

Review

All the amenities of a Lexus or Caddie at the price of an Impala. A lot of options but not refined. At times when just starting the car surges when just touching the gas pedal and other times you can floor it and go 15 mph. Both go away in about 20 seconds but bothersome. Other than that very pleased with the car. Smooth tranny and good steering feel. I'd buy another Hyundai with no hesitation.

Favorite Features

This car's best feature is value and the warranty. Reliability has been good too (75,000 miles).

Suggested Improvements

Fuel mileage is unacceptable at 20 mpg. Too much road noise gets into the cabin.

Review

I have a 2005 XG350L. My most recent problem has been when I drive from a parking space my car only wants to go about 10 miles and hour no matter how much gas I give it. After a while it will go 20 mph no more. After that it finally takes off like nothing happened. This process takes about 5 to 10 mins. When taken to repair could not duplicate. So can not fix. Accel position sensor and fuel sensor have been replaced previously. I love my car, but it is not reliable. The outside body also is thin. It dents and scratches easily. I would not recommend this car to anyone. I am working with the Hyundai Motor America consumer assistance center now I don't know that it will help.

Favorite Features

Body Style, interior, good ride, drives good, great stereo, and heated seats.

Suggested Improvements

Fill service departments in on this new fix stated in #1991's reply Mar.23, 2007. Everyone I talk to knows nothing about it. The body also needs to have heavier gauged metal. My body man said its like a pop can.

Review

I have no complaints other than the gas mileage but that's to be expected when purchasing a v6. The comfort is amazing, the acceleration response is great, overall performance is excellent. You definetely get your moneys worth and then some. I have had no issues with the car what-so-ever. The classic design of the car is exactly what I was looking for. I wouldn't trade it for any car in the world. You cannot go wrong with the xg350l. I would recommend it to anyone and everyone. Nothing about it feels cheap, short cutted or unfinished. 2 big thumbs up.
